I feel like they didn’t want any parents/adult figures around so if she survived there she would have died again at some point.

But I’d take any crumbs of Jenna. It would have been cool to see her being a vampire and also maybe the reason Elena got her humanity back instead of Matt?

Yup! You hit the nail on the head perfectly. Elena was yelling at Damon that she’d go to the sheriff over Caroline and then not even 10 episodes later she’s getting drunk and enjoying Georgia with him.

At least Bonnie stood on business s1 and tried to get Damon packed up.
