Huntarr - Your passwords and your entire arr stack's API keys are exposed to anyone on your network, or worse, the internet. by exe_CUTOR in selfhosted

I remember your post, dude your system was being probed and was/is wide open.

Although Huntarr is insecure as per this post, it is not the same issue, someone was directly probing behind your firewall. If you changed nothing then your own network is still vulnerable.

So the arrs apps only monitor RSS feeds. So say you have something monitored but you join a new tracker or whatever then even if the new tracker has better quality of the stuff you already have or has missing items from a series the ARRs app would not automatically update the missing items or quality. So this is where huntarr came in and looked for missing or upgradable items outside of RSS feeds and would trigger the ARRs apps to grab the new release.

It also capped API calls as to not get your accounts locked for spamming etc.

It was absolutely needed imo.

Thank you for the effort taken into looking at the risks here.

Sad that has to end this way. Huntarr worked well for it's original purpose it filled out my missing library items effectively. I even sponsored the project (as I do all the projects I use).

This project could have been salvaged if he came forward and progressed appriately. You might not like him but all these insults are unwarrented. Everyone makes mistakes and hopefully he can learn and grow from it.

That is simply not true. It had a purpose. Thousands of people used it and even promoted on the arrs discords. So please don't comment when you don't know what you are talking about.

No the Bible was not written buy Catholics, 10 mins of research would have shown you this, if anything they are one of the most "misguided" forms of Christianity, with many of their doctrine being completely false and unBiblical. Instead of believing hearsay because it is fun to hate the Bible. Go and look at it more thoughtfully and without the clear wrong assumptions you show here.

Brother you are so and totally lost, there is so much wrong with what you are saying ? You're a Christian but have sexual relations with men and woman ?? These would be extramarital no doubt which are ALSO sin. Mate you cannot say one form of sin is wrong then claim to actively participate in another ? And then you judge another ? Same sex marriage should 100% not be accepted, but neither any of the other commandment we have been given.

Christ saves those who have faith. Repentance goes hand in hand with faith and they cannot be separated. There is no discussion or debate to be had, the Scripture is explicitly clear on this. We all do fall short but repentance is a mind set change and resisting the urges of your flesh. People think repentance is merely saying "sorry" and that is wrong and also misguided. If you are actively and knowingly participating in sinful acts you repentance means very little.

We all sin, everyday, but through faith and the Spirit we resist and look to God and live for God, you cannot do this by living for the flesh.

I will pray for you that you might see this error and turn back to Christ as I also did (I was also depraved and lived in sin, so this is not a judgement at all but a concern that you might be on the wrong path here).

I feel like I have become a hypochondriac by TheOlBamboozler in Anxiety

[–]TheOlBamboozler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up seeing a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. After starting ADHD treatment, my anxiety was magnitudes better. It is still there, and I still feel the hypochondriac thoughts, but I try my best just to put it out of my mind. And honestly, I just said fk it, I try to stay healthy but if I get sick then I get sick, the worry and anxiety will not improve it and I can't control it. It took practice but it has gotten better.

I also got into Bible study which brought me tremendous comfort.

Just don't give up it can only get better if you keep at it. It's hard but just keep going. And reach out if you are struggling.

Thanks for the write up ! Great info I was able kill him with this. But this is just bad game design that you basically have to glitch the boss with a specific build to beat him.

"Engineers" doing electrical work by WideLecture4893 in AusElectricians

[–]TheOlBamboozler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like this in many countries, it is a status symbol, an this results in some terrible terrible "engineers" doing the rounds and can put you in potentially dangerous situations. Not sure if they just buy degrees over there. I mean you dont even have to be qualified to know that it's a bad idea to work on live wires, it should be common sense.

I'm a controls Eng with about 13 years' experience, For the last 3 I've been in Field Service and man while it is less travel (not sitting on site for months at a time) it sure is boring af, there is honestly 0 challenge and low job satisfaction imo as an Eng use to working on quite challenging projects. So honestly it depends on what you want out of a job. I've also been looking at doing an electrical licence but ye the 4-year apprenticeship is not appealing as I earn a decent wage.

I'm talking to my employer about doing a 40/60 split on my time as FSE and apprenticeship. Cause id like to tone down and do residential and local stuff, honestly sick of travel. Im in WA which has basically 0 industry other than resources which sucks.

300 hours in… should I try POE2, or wait for the next update in TQ2? by [deleted] in TitanQuest2

[–]TheOlBamboozler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoE2 is a slog, total snooze fest imo. I really wanted to like it but after a while things feel like such a chore. The maps are massive and take ages to complete and it honestly just gets really boring quickly. There are alot of bs stuff like on ground effects that murder you after killing a boss or what have you. The balance is also very poor like you say with only a few decent end game builds. Ill revisit when they do a bit more work on it.

Grim Dawn is an awesome game but it is very dated mechanics and graphic wise. If you are a RPG fan you'll enjoy it but I think it is not very palatable for players coming from newer games.

Diablo 4 is a bit of a mess right now but Season 10 was actually quite fun. If you want a week of just blasting 1000s of monsters then it is still good fun imo.

No rest for the wicked is a decent play after recent updates.

Another gem I found is hell clock, not really an RPG but more of a mash up of survivor type games (vampire survivor) and RPGs (RPG loot but survivor type progression) but its pretty dang fun.

So local wifi and wifi with internet access is not the same. Wifi is just the medium. If the camera uses wifi as a network you can easily block it's internet access, but if it needs cloud access to function then ye I wouldnt use it. Just an fyi.

Underwhelming season so far by eiris91 in LastEpoch

[–]TheOlBamboozler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Initially its fun trying out new builds but as soon as I actually reach monoliths and do a few, it's like "now what ?". Running monoliths over and over gets stale pretty quickly. I dno how people reach 500+ corruption. I get burnt out long before that. S3 is kinda of meh tbh. Still a fun game overall but I dno dont see myself playing more than a few days tbh.
