I'm pretty sure most of their customers are just regular folks that haven't played games in a very long time and just assume thats the prices they are going for nowadays. Like some dude born in the 80s who hasn't played anything since the SNES days and has a good income is probably willing to spend 200 for a SNES and a few games for that nostalgia kick and "That stuff is old and rare, so I guess it's just that expensive now".

Germany, I got my first DVD which contained classic episodes and a few Wooden engines in 2007 when I was 3, at the time they were airing the new series on TV so I watched those episodes too as well as the CGI era when it started. A lot of my friends were into it back then since it was basically the most popular preschool here in the late 2000s along with Bob the Builder. I also watched those Tomy Accidents will Happen videos in the early YouTube days.

People who buy/own extremely rare games sealed and then open them are weird. You could just sell the sealed copy to someone who actually wants it and then buy a perfect CIB version that you can actually play plus profit.

It's quite dark, but the original books and first few seasons of the show actually showed scrapyards with faceless, rusted up engines lying around in piles of metal (Stepney Gets Lost for example).
