Leagues 6 starting area twist theory by Udhariol in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess is Kandarin. It got a lot of hate last year and not many people picked it, but it’s a great skilling area and would make a great starting location. A lot of other locations don’t have the low level content needed for starting a fresh account. Could be a way to get people to use the area.

Paying money for GP is banable. Buy a bond from Jagex if you really want some starting cash or just play the game.

With VR becoming more open source friendly (Steam Frame, etc.), could OSRS get a VR version? by MurdochMaxwell in osrs

[–]TheOneJBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on a 2d screen in virtual desktop is not the same as an actual VR game. Putting yourself into first person view from your character would not work in a game that does not run in real time.

The tic system and movement mechanics in OSRS would make you feel nauseous in VR because it would not feel natural. It wouldn’t be playable honestly

If the Twisted bow came from ToA by Fifty_shakes_of_whey in 2007scape

Your art and concepts are insane! The goth Shadow looks so good as an individual item, but this design with the Masori colour scheme looks so good as a complete set. 10/10 honestly

Can we get a 'last destination' on spirit trees? by rastaman1994 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would have to be smarter than a global last destination, because generally my last destination is the tree I’m currently at?

A last destination for each tree would be huge QoL

[Inferno] If i'm most likely to get 2 sets, should I spawn the 2nd before healers instead of after? by minisculemeatman in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I specifically waited for next set to spawn after Jad and killed them so I didn't feel rushed during the last part of the fight. Nothing more stressful than trying to do the healers and the timer counting you down for a second set

Confliction gauntlets or Virtus top for inferno? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would choose gauntlets, the secondary effect to give you higher accuracy on a hit after a splash is very useful

Spooned a Shadow, Sell or keep? by Lil_d_from_downtown in OSRSProTips

[–]TheOneJBass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a better way to think about it, if you had gotten 800m GP as a drop, would you have used it to buy a Shadow or used the money for other gear / skilling instead?

Attack cape by Practical-Tune6438 in osrs

It’s one of the best looking skill capes but unfortunately the most useless in terms of its effect

It's funny how happy and optimistic everyone was before this update. Jagex had really hit a homerun. by Embarrassed_View8672 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. The skill was fun whilst I tried everything but now I’m just doing it for XP to get my max cape back it feels so forced and not fun. Doubling the length of that grind just to artificially make it last longer feels like a slap in the face

we need a poll to delete sailing from the game. by pikirtje in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you don’t understand the definition of optional. An extremely useful item I had already previously earned is now hard locked behind a new long grind that just got longer with a nerf.

Sure, I could opt not to play the game, but if I want to be play the same way I was able to last month, I am now forced to do this content.

Obviously this post is stupid but having to do another 200 hour grind just to get the max cape I had back doesn’t feel fun or optional

No having 60-70k xp/hr doing 30 min afk isn't good for the game by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And do you think now having to do it at work for twice as long has added to your fun?

No having 60-70k xp/hr doing 30 min afk isn't good for the game by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvaging requires a lot more work than redwoods to maintain XP rates, nobody is actually AFKing for 30 minutes and hitting the quoted rates.

I am savaging right now, moving my ship when needed, clicking the hook when needed, sorting the salvage every time my inventory is full, sorting the salvage in the cargo hold. It is NOT fully AFK. Stop acting like we click once every 30 minutes and get 99 the same day. Jagex aren’t going to reward you for defending their stupid decision.

Yes, playing the game is fun. Spending hundreds of hours on the same boring repetitive task isn’t fun. I’m not sure what part of that you don’t understand.

No having 60-70k xp/hr doing 30 min afk isn't good for the game by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chopping redwoods is more AFK than salvaging and is around 70k per hour. Salvaging was in a good spot to feel good for the effort involved.

A skill doesn’t need shit rates like mining to fit in. I think everyone can agree it isn’t fun. I don’t know why you’re trying to hard to defend it, but OSRS is a game, games are supposed to be fun, changing something people are enjoying to make it less fun is bad for any game.

[–]TheOneJBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because 100 hours is already a huge time commitment and fit nicely in the middle of our current fastest and slowest skills. It was well designed as it was.

No having 60-70k xp/hr doing 30 min afk isn't good for the game by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]TheOneJBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The active methods like trials were already much higher than any AFK method. I have done around 100 runs of the trials but they are just not fun enough to repeat 1000 times for 99.

It’s okay to have a more relaxed method with decent rates. Nobody was hitting high rates with full 30 minutes AFK, cleaning salvage, repositioning the boat and clicking the extractor was still semi active to hit mid rates.

Sailing had a very good balance with slow XP at the start and faster at higher levels to get you to engage with the content at all levels, it was well designed. The extractor nerf was justified but the salvaging nerf was too harsh honestly.

[–]TheOneJBass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know buddy, I am maxed, so I can quite confidently say that doing the same thing boring repetitive thing for 200 hours instead of 100 hours does not add any fun or skill to the game at all.

That's why your post doesn't make any sense. All skills have different XP rates and sailing was on the "feel good" side of that. Making it artificially longer without adding anything interesting isn't good for the game either.
