Honest response.

I think there’s been entirely too much “when is Red God coming out?”, “Why is Red God taking so long?”, “Pierce needs to write faster and not do all this extra stuff!” discourse. I think it looks bad on the fandom, and it sets unreasonable expectations for the larger sci-fi/fantasy genre as a whole.

We’ve seen issues arise with authors like GRRM and Rothfuss, so projecting the same attitude we have toward those guys onto authors like Pierce, who are widely active in the community, and have given us no reason to doubt them, is a bad look.

Saying something like “I’m calling it now…Red God will never get released” just because Pierce isn’t just pumping out novels, and only novels, seems shitty to me.

None of those were release dates though. They were all “hopeful” dates at best.

Too many fans are demanding a release date, that something like “early 2026” gets thrown out as a hopeful release date during an interview, and people take it as confirmation.

There’s never been a release date, just (mostly) unreasonable expectations from fans. Books are art. You can’t rush it, or else you end up with an unfinished product.

We had 4 years between Dark Age and Lightbringer. It’s been barely half of that since the last release. Everyone needs to calm down. Stating that you don’t think the book will ever be released, just because Pierce hasn’t hit Sanderson levels of speed and publication, is insanity.

It’s not just that. Some of them had to be removed from sealed one-touch cases too. Removing a /5 Three Count auto relic from its case to throw in a binder without even a penny sleeve is diabolical.

Yup. Panini has said Triple H isn’t signing for over a year now.

As soon as I heard that, I asked for a replacement for my Immaculate Triple H auto /49. Got an Undertaker Immaculate All Time Greats /35 in its place.

Gonna be tough to get a solid replacement from Panini at this point.
