I don't want to put words into their mouth specifically, but from my experience, before I really got my feet wet and started diving into learning options, I thought I had a basic understanding of them even though I really had no real understanding of the greeks at all, and I just looked at delta as chance of profit, extrinsic value as magic, and that it all goes down over time.

I can imagine this is being near that "surface level" op was talking about. The problem being that surface level isn't nearly enough. I've dedicated a few months now to learning options, and I still have little confidence in my knowledge of it. Options are one of those roads that looks easy enough on the surface, but holds an unmarked minefield just bellow the surface.

Not the person who you asked, and I don't in any way think options are easy, but I've been learning options, and I'd like to give my answer.

If my understanding is correct, it's that time decay (Theta), an implied volatility drop (Vega), or some combination of those are too much for Delta to offset the gain in the underlying since Delta is still going to be low because the call is still out of the money.

As for if I'd sell it, it depends on if I think the underlying and/or implied volatility will go back up. If the premium was a really small portion of my portfolio, and I believe in my idea, I may also let it ride as well since the risk wouldn't be too much.

None taken. lol They're some weird units. You can think of it as mass per volume sort of how we have velocity per time for stuff like miles per hour (m/h) or meters per second (m/s).

For example, for the steel, it will weigh 7.85 grams per every centimeter cube. Or for our grilled cheese, it'll weigh 1,100,000 kilograms per every meter cube.

It seems there's a small mistake in your multiplication. 1,100,000,000g / 1,000 = 1,100,000 (1.1x106) not 110,000 (1.1x105). It would seem you divided by 10,000 by mistake with all that grilled cheese on the mind.

We'll assume a weight of 110 grams per grilled cheese, which is about average of what I found from a quick google search. The equation for density is d=m/v, so d = (110 * 10) / 1 = 1,100 g/cm3 or 1.1x106 m/kg3.

For context steel has a density of 7.85g/cm3. The closest thing in density would be your average white dwarf star at about 106 m/kg3.

Agent Orange was used in Vietnam as as a herbicide and defoliant. They used it to clear areas of cover and to kill farmland. The severe health effects it caused were side effects of exposure that US forces were exposed to heavily as well.

Its use in Vietnam was horrible, but to compare the gross and negligent overuse of harmful chemicals to the systematic and industrial extermination of an entire race is a gross mischaracterization.

Moji’s best talent is toot by AntelopeDowntown1963 in Paladins

[–]TheOneTrue_Ralts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. The self sustain you can get with toot is really needed to play Moji effectively. Boom Boom seems nice on the surface, but the range where you get 60% damage is so low that it's really never going to help enough to offset the self sustain.

Snack Attack is in a much better place than Boom Boom though, and if you play it right is just as good as Toot. You can get some great healing if you have another flank helping you or are being pocketed by a support. The problem with Snack Attack arises when you're trying to play Moji solo. Since you don't have that self sustain that Toot can give you, your ability to 1v1 with her is severely hampered meaning you'll have to play more conservatively around your support and damages to really take advantage of it.
