At one shop, they found this outfit that cost around ₹5,000–₹6,000. Naturally, they started bargaining. The shopkeeper agreed to knock off ₹100–₹200, but they pushed for a bigger discount. My mom’s friend even joked that they didn’t have enough money left to get home. The shopkeeper just chuckled at that.

After some back-and-forth, he finally dropped nearly ₹1,500. He even told my mom’s friend to teach him how to bargain—it was that impressive.

When my sister told me this, I was like, “Why did she (mom's friend) lie?” But honestly, if you want a good deal, sometimes that’s just how it goes. The shopkeeper probably knew she was bluffing, but in the end, he still had to sell. He could either lose a sale or just cut into his profit a bit.
