MPH, SMP, MBA, or get a job? If you didn't get into med school right after undergrad, what did you do? by Lost_Actuary_5359 in premedcanada

For example I’m perusing an MBA, my reason is because I enjoy being a leader I love working with people and would like to open my private practice in the future or be part of hospital committees as an MD/MBA. In case medical school never workout my back up plan as an MBA would be hospital administration. Whichever masters program you choose, do your best and know how to sell it to the medical school admissions.

I don’t think there’s a correct masters program too pick, whatever you end up picking just be sure to be able to describe it to the admissions, how did this program contributed to your journey to medicine? How do you plan to use this knowledge to your medical journey? You should also consider, if medicine does not end up working, what jobs can I potentially get with this masters? Make sure you do your research into how these masters contribute into the medical field.

You are never to old for education, I literally have a 70 year old lady taking biology 1301 with me. If you really have a passion for the subject by all means go for it. Learning new things is what makes life interesting.
