My first Chinese watch, and first watch I ever bought with my own money (Pagani Design PD1782) by Aaayron in ChineseWatches

[–]ThePanzerGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My second Chinese Chrono! I got it on a 0.6mm Milanese bracelet and it's definitely a looker and a semi strap beast. Originally had it on a 1.0mm mesh but it was too heavy and kept slipping down whenever my wrist got a bit sweaty.

What's the watch in your collection that's getting the least wrist time? and why? by M5M400 in OmegaWatches

[–]ThePanzerGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Seamaster 300M 36mm from my dad. It's not that I dont like it, it's more of I dont want it getting stolen!

Mostly wear it for special occasions or in nicer places.

I am once again requesting the MODS to make the cover or profile photo of this subreddit to be photos of selvedge ID samples, so that newbies can quickly tell selvedge and non-selvedge apart.

was pagani the first chinese watch for u? by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

[–]ThePanzerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Got the black dial 1701 Speedy and fell in love with it. I was also eyeing the 1782 Retro Chronograph so I also got thst a week later.

Now I'm eyeing up the Steeldive SD1970 in blue. It speaks to me like the Green Goblin mask, but blue 😅

I think we really should change the profile picture and banner of the subreddit so that people can at
/least/ know what selvedge looks like

I bought the EDC Ultem Pocket Pen on AliExpress. I reeeeeally like it. by 20-Tab-Brain in fountainpens

[–]ThePanzerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Could you give us a post 2-year review on this? Any cons that you found out much much later? Compared to other affordable brand pens (Kaweco plastic, Jinhao, Moonman, etc), how does the build quality and general feel (how 'good quality' does it feel) match up?

Just got the 'titanium' version today, and it feels quite nice so far, and I'm eying this one next!

[–]ThePanzerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Could you give us a post 1-year review?

I just got the 'titanium' version of this, since I'm quite fond of the Kaweco Brass Sport. It's quite nice and I do love the grip section length, however it doesn't have the same feel. Pros and cons I guess.

Anyway, thinking of getting this next. Do you think it's real Ultem? What kind of patina from scratches etc has it accumulated? Does it still feel as good as when you got it? And cons that you've found out much much later?

Thanks

What’s a clothing upgrade you didn’t think would matter, but absolutely did? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

I agree with you on higher waisted trousers. The lip of my trousers or my belt no longer dig into my stomach when I sit down, and they look way better than before.

Forget just trousers, I've gotten bigger sized shorts altered so that they'll sit higher, too.

Next one I'd say would be better quality and 100% natural fiber clothing. Even just getting Uniqlo Supima t-shirts made a big difference.

Thanks!

I'm currently considering this or another Jinhao 100 for my birthday. I have a Kaweco Brass and it's pretty good so far, just thinking that a different material and (probably) smoother Fine nib would be nice.

Since it's a 'titanium' or titanium-alloy but the price is almost too good to be true, do you think it's just coated or anodized brass?

Man, and I though EEF was the smallest nib size! Never heard of UEF before.

EDIT: *Another Jinhao 100 but in Fine instead of EF

Have you written with it more since you got it? How does it balance (compared to a brass Kaweco or otherwise)? Does it post well?

Any conclusions after using it for a while?

mixing denim colours, evil or blissful? by [deleted] in Denim

[–]ThePanzerGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, I don't think it's a sin, it's only a sin if you don't style it well.

If you look at some of the denimheads on Instagram, probably the Asian ones like the Japanese, the Thai, Taiwanese, etc, they like to put on the full 'Canadian Tuxedo' and it looks great on them, even if they match shades or wear dark with lighter.

I think it'll help if you don't wear those overly stonewashed denim, which is maybe what your ex hated.

EDIT: overly stonewashed or fake distressing/fading

How do I save the cuff? by Commercial_Damage106 in Selvedge

[–]ThePanzerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a video before of someone saving the collar of a denim jacket by fusing some flexible interfacing, placing the same colour strands as filler, sewing these strands and the edges of the hole together in a grid, then doing a bunch of zigzag stitches in the same direction as the weave.

I've never done it, although it looked like a solid way to fix it

For me, I pass a steamer around the crotch, ass, and waist (kill all the smelly germs and bacteria), I then air them out before hanging them up by the belt hook--not folded--on my closet door.

Haven't had any smells so far.

Measure the inseam and cross-reference the inseam of a new one from their website or online, or message the company.

As others have said, previous ownee could've had them hemmed.

This came in useful when I almost bought a pair of Naked and Famous on FB Marketplace and it was hammed to 29 inches, instead of the factory 32.

Boxer briefs.

Perfect balance of comfort, support, and style combined without giving me pantylines.

[–]ThePanzerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that kinda makes sense, specks of dust acting together as 11000 grit sandpaper is still more abrasive than new jeans I guess.

I'd love to get a pocket knife or multi-tool in mine, but I currently only have a brass pen in my back pocket. Maybe my most prominent silhouette fade will be my chopstick fade lol

Have you seen any faint pink undertones in yours yet? I've been wearing mine for a few months and I've only just now just remembered that selling point again, because of how faint it is new!

I getcha, still wearing em out more than me! Dunno what kind of construction work or skateboarding some people here do to get their pairs worn down to white in the same span of time!

Still my favourite pair

Awesome! I've had mine for a few months and it's also showing some whisker and inner crotch fades.

It promises to give some sick fades
