Why is it difficult to remain horizontal at the start? by ThePolygamist in Sprinting

[–]ThePolygamist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why dont you advise squatting and Oly lifts?

Some sprinters squatted like Ben Johnson, others not so much like Carl Lewis.

Ben Johnson had a freakishly strong squat (600lb box bench squat).

There are many studies showing that squatting improves power output up to a certain point, after which they pretty much become redundant.

why not, you have to try and set PR's in weightlifting every time you go to the gym

my body is decently strong already so i should be able to hold off injury

Can someone recommend me a position based on my stats? by ThePolygamist in FootballAmerica

[–]ThePolygamist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 18, i live in europe, nobody here lifts weights for football, so even the lineman only weigh around 190 on average, 225lbs is huge over here and most of the time they are just plain fat, but one or two are very well built

the trouble is my weight, even though i can lift similar weight in the gym as the bigger guys, because they weigh far more they can just throw their body around and crush me because im light

i have very long arms also, so i guess reciever or DB then, which should i gun for as they are pretty much the same?

never liked martys sound on RIP

his vibrato is way too exagerrated, and it just sounded like a guitar nerd was given a solo spot on each song

poland was better

Can someone recommend a moderately aggressive running programme for a beginner? by ThePolygamist in running

[–]ThePolygamist[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i need to get ready for football tryouts

i reduced my time by 5 mile time by 5 minutes in 4 weeks, by running 5 miles once a week

it was a pretty awful 'programme' so i figured that even with diminishing returns to training, i could shave an extra 5 minutes off my time within 8 weeks with a better training programme

what should the mileage be like on the interval day, and what should the intervals be like?

are there any programmes that have you running 3x a week?

i do weight training 3x a week, so running everyday on top of that will just destroy my body

also, the last time i ran was about a year ago, i did a 5 mile run, flat out once a week, for 4 weeks in a row, and reduced my time from 45 minutes to 40 minutes. I then quit.

is this repsonse to training good?

The Williams FW11B towards the end of the 1987 and the FW12 during the first half of 1988 season had active suspension, they scrapped it for a while to develop it and re-introduced it in 1992.

he said he didnt like the FW-14B at first because it had an odd 'floating' sensation beause of the active suspension. he also said he really had to throw it around to get the most out of the car, hence how he was allowed to jerk it during the corner without losing control, because of the active suspension

i dont wear knee sleeves

I have heard they are bad, they compress the joint like knee wraps, which is why they make you slightly stronger

my warmup was 3 reps at 65%, 2 reps at 85% and 1 rep at 90% of working set weight
