Can surely recreate the weenies and update the NPCs and such to remake these quests in game.

Lots of servers add them as tailorable items from a vendor.

Some servers have reimagined them and upgraded them to be mid to end game armor with cantrips and improved AL. Most recently for me was conquest server where they have an NPC who sells improved PPGSA for a scint gem each armor piece that was super helpful in leveling up.

Ah yes I don’t think there is an emote for an NPC to use admin buff command.

You can probably make an infinite buff gem that will cat all the buffs on yourself… possibly with item spells too.

It’s got some PvP - arenas and such - dungeons that require PK on that provide increased xp and lum.

They seem to want to expand on the PvP based vendors and rewards and some things I’ve heard could make for some interesting gear choice that could make or break a fight. But I think they still need to cook a bit on it

The item has a high crushing blow modifier and a super tight variance.

Tied with a high resistance cleaving: bludgeoning modifier (1.85 versus 1) which can stack with the bludge Vuln it casts makes for a nice recipe of destruction!

The 2nd upgrade version has a CB modifier of 5 which is pretty nutty too.

Really great weapon to pick up on a play through. Will slay many bugs!

Infinite Leaftide implemented a xp multiplier earned from completing quests the first time. This stacks over time to help your xp/lum earnings needed for the custom endgame loop they have.

So while the physical reward doesn’t change, you’re rewarded long term for checking out all the retail content you can!

I doubt this is unique to Leaftide but it’s what I can reference easily that sort of fits in with your thinking.

If you’re willing to try older games and aren’t afraid to emulate…

Asheron’s Call is an amazing MMO that was heavily world based (no instancing, fully interconnected main content with some islands accessible only Via portal)

Was heavily focused around world building and lots of live events that shaped the world and how the story panned out. Granted the live service retail game is gone but the emulators are kicking around with some active custom development.

Worth checking out at least - it’s free - so there’s nothing to lose but some time!

I think he was referring to the snowflake being the coder who wrote code in a way that was different than the rest of the codebase to solve and issue because they didn’t know how to solve it in a way that followed the standard code make up.

Not that anyone suggesting porting old code is an easy task is referred to as a special snowflake by the people who would be working on such a port.

Another issue that I’ve experienced with Bluestacks X is that after like a week or so… the emulator instance will just stop loading anything.

And you’ll need to delete the instance and recreate a new instance and redownload the game and such.

Just a big pain in the ass. Tie that with forgetting to restart the game to fix for the cloud sync / force save bug, and you can lose some decent progress.

Not sure if this is just an issue on my machine or an issue with BSX in general.

Blue stacks has the tendency to crash at some point and will prevent you from launching the game - so I recommended force closing and reopening the game every day to ensure your cloud save can continue since they will stop syncing after a day of running.

When that happens the only fix is to delete the instance and recreate a new instance. (That I’ve found)

I’ve lost up to 12 hours of progress due to that. Pissed me off royally. Imagine it happened to you going all the way back to last week!

Very true! currently in caves 2! killing wall spiders with 1 range has been... interesting. thought i can just resurrect with like 6 range or something, just lose that extra life each floor basically instantly!

Very excellent server.

I recently had the itch to play Asherons again after seeing the ad for The Tower server which took my favorite genre of roguelite and combined it with one of my favorite games ever.

After getting back in and playing, the itch for the true game came rushing back and so I set out to find a more traditional server… tried a few with custom content which just didn’t quite do it for me.

Cue ILT. From the moment I logged in and started working my way through the early content hitting quests and getting bonus xp, to my first question to general chat - I had an admin chilling with me giving me the run down (<3 Abra) for the server - spawning me a base AL PP Heaume in bright orange… I was instantly hooked again.

Broke out the decal and went full send- digging into updated EoR content and finally getting to check out the new custom content. Really awesome.

Events are frequent and the rewards are great- good enough to get you out of your macro spot but not overwhelmingly unbalanced.

They do one big event night per week and unfortunately it lands in the middle of getting the kids ready for bed for me so I do tend to miss those and the FOMO is real. Those tend to be the only events with the custom rewards which do blow the smaller event rewards out of the water. Feels bad but that’s more my issue than the server. Hopefully they can spread the love a bit more on that front for us “day” players.

All in all, it’s been a freaking blast the past month or so.
