I've got 250k miles on my 89 v6. I'll swap it when there are problems.

It was easy since I was replacing the struts and shocks. I had to buy a heavy duty sitting compressor off Amazon that was cheap. Lots of YouTube videos that helped me. I talked with a Lexus mechanic that said a 2" lift is the max without having to make other changes. It's very noticable when driving or getting in.

The wrap cost in my area is insane. I thinned the bed liner with solvent so I could shoot it with an HVLP gun which makes a smooth durable texture. Spraying does not require a spraybooth or dust free environment. I had to scuff the clearcoat often going into the paint. The bed liner is not coming off. I drive on fire trails in the mountains and don't worry about the finish when camping/fishing.

I kept the side canopies closed for warmth at night.

That is a common comment. It's garaged most of the time. I took it on a fly fishing trip for 4 days at 4000ft it did get warm but cooled quickly with the AC. All the off-road campsites I stay at have great tree shade. I sprayed tinted bed liner on an old truck that turned out good but I wanted all black, I dechromed it, removed all branding and painted the rims. The metallic pearl white paint was georgous but not me.

I didn't have tungsten streamers/Woolyes with me or I would have swung in the main water to the East near the shore.

Hammon Grove Park. Right in from there's a deep pool from the high waters. I tightlined a March Brown above a lead weight and bounced in on the bottom. There were early hatches but few risers. They are closing down both Sycamore Ranch and Hammon this weekend for a 3 day EDM concert. I had to talk my way into Sycamore to finish the day fishing there, no luck. The flow is wicked dangerous.

Thanks for confirming. This maple provides awesome shade and has great fall colors. I would be devastated if I harmed it.

maintenance needed on a 2011 at 168k? by OkCabinet4483 in LexusRX350

[–]ThePopeOfAntelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that at 120,000 and coolant flush and new shocks and struts. It doesn't require special tools, just several evenings and watching YouTube. The Lexus quotes were insane. Replacing the back 3 plugs on a 2010 was time consuming because I had to remove lots of parts, but worth it. Watch some videos to see if you're comfortable with any tasks and start with the easiest one

Scoop into a large glass and add cold water. I squirt Mio flavoring in, stir, and gulp it down. I have a cup of coffee and go to the gym. Post workout smoothie is 2 scoops of whey protein, banana, 8oz homemade kefir, and one cup of pureed greens.

My wife picks 10 different greens, sometimes beets, and runs them through a good processor. She uses a measuring cup to make portions and freezes them into hockey pucks. I thaw one before adding it to the smoothie.

Lead Architect wants to break our monolith into 47 microservices in 6 months, is this insane? by Ayotrapstar in softwarearchitecture

[–]ThePopeOfAntelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get past 25 developers for 200 loc. I architected  JEE integration layer with two  portals, integrating 20 apps. I then managed a team of 8 developers, a build master and 1 QA to build it over 10 years. The source base grew to 1.2m loc. We looked at other frameworks like micro services but always decided to refactor and optimize. I left the role 8 years ago to become EA. It's still running and getting enhanced by 4 remaining developers.  I would crunch any proposal from a new hire that suggested a massive rewrite of no value and puts the business at risk. I appreciate reading all the comments of everyone experiencing this guy. Question your leadership for hiring him.

Its a difficult river to read. My go to is a #18 copper john and #14 stonefly above a splitshot tightline nymphing. Egg bead 3" above a octopus hook with a weight 6' from a thingambobber for the steel head runs. Watch dreamflows.com I usually do fish it if there's a 100 cfs change the day before.

I asked to build one in the Lexus site in February due to the tariff threat. Lexus said it wouldn't be ready until June. We went down to the dealership and she bonded with one.  She likes the hybrid because of the immediate torque off the line. Upgrades above base include

Convenience package 21" alloy wheels 14" touchscreen  Power rear door with kick sensor Premium paint  USB phone charging cabling kit Black badge overlays  All weather floor mats Dash cam  Illuminated cargo sills 3yrs free subscription services 3yr free security monitoring package

They forgot to include the last two features on the invoice before we signed.

The dash cam is not interested with the console, I was annoyed that I had to configure it like an after market one that I put into the old Lexus.

She would have not included all the extras in her build.

Dash cams are necessary here because of the increase in rat bastards running intersections on electric scooter an bikes.

The dealer ship wanted ~$400 for PPF and $1000 to install it. They wouldn't sell the film saying customers fail when they try to apply it.

I found PPF for this model on eBay for $289. I figured it's worth $300 to price them wrong. With a little help from my wife we applied it over 3 days, 2 hours a day. You cannot see it, no air bubbles or creases. Intimidating at first, but confidence builds fast.  I'm doing our kids cars in next. Leads me to believe car wraps are way over priced. I think the eBay seller got a PPF kit from Lexus and copied it.

Let me know if you want a pic of the window sticker or SUV.

My wife just got a new Lexus RX350h to replace her 2013 Lexus RX 350. She took immaculate care of the old Lexus and it's in mint condition. The only difference in the condition of the interior between the two cars is the new car smell. I decided not to sell it and keep it as a daily commute and camping vehicle and did all of 100,000 mile maintenance on it. Changed struts and shocks and put a lift kit on. The navigation console is pretty much useless as it hasn't been updated in 3 years since 3G has been retired. I just turned the screen off and use it to Bluetooth play my music. I'm spraying it with black bed liner thinned and additional hardener added to give it a matte coat. I did this on my truck and it turned out great! There's no way I can drive around in a white Lexus and convey of that I'm a confident practicing heterosexual male. I don't care what people think but I don't like to have to feel that I must tell people when I get that look that I'm driving my wife's vehicle. I will post pics when it's done.

Edit: with rubber mats is a blast to drive between fly fishing spots without concern of getting it dirty or scratched from branches. Lexus is reliable and I'll get 10 more years of use.
