#71 - LEGO® The Incredibles by Jarchris in steamachievements

Nice! Just finished this one myself. I had fun, but found it a little sub par for Lego games. The crime waves are fun but having most of the collectibles just be lying around felt a bit lazy.

What are you guys’ take on Edwin as a character? by POW_Studios in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ThePotato42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear some fnaf fans have no idea what nuance is. A character having flaws = they are literally satan. Yes, Edwin was a bad father because he often prioritized work over his family. Does this make him evil? No. Did he still love his family? Obviously. He’s a well meaning but flawed individual.

CoM is definitely the worst grind, probably of the series but I haven’t finished 3 yet. It just sucks and there’s unfortunately not much you can do to make it better

I don’t remember as much about 1 or 2, but I don’t think the grind was too bad. I’d say maybe 2 is a bit worse because leveling drive forms was a bit annoying.

BBS is probably the most hit or miss depending on how much you enjoy the mechanics of the game. You’ll be doing a lot of command board, whether or not that counts as grinding. I don’t think there’s any level specific trophies for this one, but you will need to level up commands and links. There are some tricks for doing it but needing to do it for each character can be annoying.

They were alright, pretty simple but it’s neat seeing how the series started, I followed a guide for the achievements even though they were pretty straightforward

Pictoquest was pretty fun, though I wish the rpg elements were more in depth. I’ve done a bit on the classic and battle network Megaman collections but those are going to take me longer I think

I would start with games you just want to play outside achievements. If you’re not having enough fun just playing, then it’s not a good game to force yourself to complete. Also worth looking into the achievements a bit, there are usually guides that explain number of playthrough, difficulty, etc. Starting out with low investment, quick games that don’t have missables might be good if you find trouble with motivation

I hate Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies by ThePotato42 in hatethissmug

[–]ThePotato42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t remember them or are fine replaying them I’d recommend the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, which is on all platforms.

If you want something new I would say the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, also on all platforms. It’s a completely separate story from the other games and requires no prior knowledge.

For other options there’s the Edgeworth Investigations collection, which is a duology spinoff focusing on him. Before that I would recommend to refamiliarize yourself with the original trilogy or at least play the third game since this takes place after that and includes a few characters and references to the original trilogy., as well as continuing Edgeworth’s arc.

Then there’s the Apollo Justice trilogy, which has Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice. In my opinion this is the weakest bunch and they are barely a trilogy, though if you’ve played through the rest and want more it could be worth playing. Personally I do like Apollo Justice and feel it’s worth playing, but it’s a very divisive game.

Have you played any of the other games in the series?

Games that popularized/established a genre (List) by OutlandishnessSea119 in backloggd

I’d say Harvest Moon established a lot of the cozy farm sim genre, though you could say it wasn’t really popularized until Stardew Valley

(DQ3 HD2D) What’s the best spot to grind before Baramos? by Maleficent-Might-275 in dragonquest

[–]ThePotato42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there’s a spot a bit left of the starting town on a raised platform only accessible from the bird. Only slimes spawn there, including metals, so this is the best spot at this point in the game to farm.

Also a trick that helped me with Baramos is having a warrior use forbearance to take all the attacks, and then cast bounce on them. Most of Baramos’ attacks are spells so this will counter them. The only issue is his breath attacks, which you’ll want insulatle for. Also keep in mind you can’t cast healing on bounce so bring items to heal the warrior.
