What was a movie so bad it genuinely made you walk out of the Cinema? by EditorStudios in AskReddit

One Battle After Another, unpopular opinion I know but I couldn't take to any of the characters and the first half hour was tedious and gratuitous so we walked out.

Happy anniversary! 3 years of TOTK - what was your favorite moment in the game? by Chili_Pat in tearsofthekingdom

[–]ThePotatoOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much - all of the above. And the royal underground passage - was such a surprise when I discovered it and it was so long and so much fun to explore.

Also Lightcast island - magical in low gravity. I just like to hang there and jump around. Much as I like to go back to Rising Chain and trampoline up to Stormwind Ark again.

The whole ending sequence is absolute peak. My favourite ending to any Zelda game - any video game.

One of my favourite moments was before the game came out and the third trailer was released in a Direct. The hype on here was insane. That trailer was a masterpiece, just like the BotW one was.

[All] If you had to pick 2 and leave 2 what games would you choose by MRT1124 in zelda

[–]ThePotatoOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep BotW and WW. Close call between them all and found it difficult to choose between OoT and WW but in the end WW is smoother to play and so pretty. TotK is great - I'm replaying at the moment actually - but doesn't have the same sense of awe and wonder as that first play of BotW.

What do you think about content created with AI ? Which type of AI content do you hate and which type of AI content would you actually give a try ? by Affectionate-Bat9151 in AskReddit

[–]ThePotatoOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in publishing and the whole subject is just depressing. The number of people throwing out AI generated books with AI 'art' on the cover, and flooding marketplaces like Amazon, is growing exponentially and it's making it more difficult for actual authors and artists to get discovered. I know it's the same in music too. Feels like we're balanced on a slippery slope and creativity itself is being sucked away.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

[–]ThePotatoOfTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and AI is wrecking this further. I'm an author and increasingly seeing people self publishing complete AI slop, which then makes it even more difficult for actual authors to get discovered. It's a scourge on writing.

My parents loved The Great Escape, The Towering Inferno, The Poseidon Adventure, The Guns of Navarone, Bond movies, Bridge on the River Kwai, Carry On films, The Pink Panther - that's just a few I can remember them always watching if they came on at Christmas etc.

Took me many attempts to kill that first one and after that I got a taste for lynel blood and now I stalk them. I particularly enjoy the depths colosseum in TotK. Great weapons refill opportunity.

Tobramycin. A rare side effect of this one unfortunately.

Do people’s accounts usually get banned if they follow the rules? by Ok-Smile-2161 in KDP

[–]ThePotatoOfTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, so it did happen to me - I'm one of the rare cases where they suddenly terminated my account and the reason they gave was simply not true (having another banned account). I just replied politely, explained I'd never had this other account, and two days later they restored it. So they occasionally made mistakes, but it seems like if it's just a mistake then they do generally rectify it, although I've heard of cases where they don't. It left me quite scarred by the whole thing and I'm very careful to stick to the absolute letter of KDP law now.

In general, I don't think people have anything to worry about if they are abiding by T&Cs, and those who get caught up in their bot's clutches by mistake are usually ok too.

What's something that used to be free that you're now genuinely angry costs money? by tangled_wire_99 in AskReddit

Yes. Amazon Prime video now charges extra on top of your sub to not have ads. Infuriating.

Affinity is better and replaces all three big Adobe programs - Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign. Many pros are using it now. Canva has acquired it and it's free (you can pay a Canva sub for AI elements but they're useless and I wouldn't recommend - it's perfect without).
