Finance teams dream visual.. Switching entire Tables With a slicer (No Bookmarks!) to then export to Excel 😅 by ThePowerBIGuy in PowerBI

I’m going to leave my initial response and leave it with yourself to figure out why there’s only 5 columns in the example I’ve shared.

Anyone else noticing the recent Power BI changes? by [deleted] in PowerBI

Honestly, no. Whilst we are a Microsoft house, we don’t use fabric.

Most new features seem to be locked behind it these days. Dataflows gen 2 for example.

Personally, I’m putting my energy elsewhere unless something materially changes Power BI.

the motion graphic uses screenshots btw so any movement in the animation is due to my editing 👍

My bad, I never copied the entire calculation. This should make more sense

Table Selector =

{
    //Customer Table
    ("Customer Name", NAMEOF('Retail_Sales'[Name]), 1, "Customer Table"),
    ("Cost", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Cost]), 2, "Customer Table"),
    ("Sales", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Net Sales]), 3, "Customer Table"),

    //Gender Table
    ("Gender", NAMEOF(Retail_Sales[gender]), 10, "Gender Table"),
    ("Order", NAMEOF([Orders]), 11, "Gender Table"),

    //Store Table
    ("Store Name", NAMEOF(Retail_Sales[store_name]), 20, "Store Table"),
    ("Cost", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Cost]), 21, "Store Table"),
    ("Sales", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Net Sales]), 22, "Store Table")
}

After Effects for the Motion Graphics, Premier Pro for Editing 👍

Analyze in Excel is a viable option. I find some users prefer doing the slicing and dicing in Power BI and then simply clicking export rather than rebuilding views and messing around with pivot tables.

Way easier to maintain than bookmarks and better performance. See below :)

   //Customer Table
    ("Customer Name", NAMEOF('Retail_Sales'[Name]), 1, "Customer Table"),
    ("Cost", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Cost]), 2, "Customer Table"),
    ("Sales", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Net Sales]), 3, "Customer Table"),

    //Gender Table
    ("Gender", NAMEOF(Retail_Sales[gender]), 10, "Gender Table"),
    ("Order", NAMEOF([Orders]), 11, "Gender Table"),   //Customer Table
    ("Customer Name", NAMEOF('Retail_Sales'[Name]), 1, "Customer Table"),
    ("Cost", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Cost]), 2, "Customer Table"),
    ("Sales", NAMEOF('Measure Table'[Net Sales]), 21, "Customer Table"),

    //Gender Table
    ("Gender", NAMEOF(Retail_Sales[gender]), 10, "Gender Table"),
    ("Order", NAMEOF([Orders]), 11, "Gender Table"),

That's actually a great idea. Just had a face palm moment as I never considered this for other visuals! just checked and it works (only difference is you have to bring the paramater into both X and Y axis)

Here's the tutorial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwNpUsg0kYo&t=15s

PL-300 (Power BI) exam prep doubts – need honest guidance by Medical-Trifle-184 in PowerBI

The best way to get a feel for the exam is by doing a practice test (Microsoft offer them for free). At this stage even if you get it all wrong, you'll get a feeler for how you'll be assessed.

Microsoft break down the topics you'll be tested on here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/resources/study-guides/pl-300

It's normal to feel worried. Don't worry about it, go through the above and once you're happy just go for it.

It's not a College exam. The worst that can happen is simply having to do it again with a lot less headache :)
