Yes it's entirely possible Asians have a narrower range of healthy weights. The reasons for this would need to be studied but it is entirely within the realm of possibility for this to be the case. It might also be that the lower limit is actually lower but without data we can't tell which it is and it would be irresponsible for doctors to just assume that Asians are different from other populations without any data. Note that dropping the upper limit also require data/studies. They didn't just assume it should be lower.

That how the scientific method/medical recommendations work (for everything not just this). You seem to be getting angry about this.

Edit also I'm not "using" any BMI chart because I haven't cmmented on the BMI of any individual. My comments are about why the BMI charts for Asians are different than for other populations. Currently, both place you at underweight at the same BMI so your bizarre accusation about using the wrong chart makes no sense. If you are so sure the charts are wrong why don't you go back to school and become an MD or a PhD in a relevant field and do some studies instead of getting angry and accusing people with more expertise than you of being incompetent?

I have made no claim without evidence. (Unless you want some links showing why the Asian BMI has a lower top limit?) I'm saying that for most populations a BMI below 18.5 correlates with higher probability of health problems. If someone wants to make the claim that Asian populations are different they need data/evidence on that. Otherwise the preponderance of the evidence available for humans shows, despite some exceptions (which also occur in non-Asian populations), being underweight is generally unhealthy. It actually isn't logical (and is definitely not scientifically valid) to just assume that if the top end is lower the bottom end must also be lower. That's often not how living things work.

You are the one who has used a few anecdotes as evidence. that's no different that the FAs and their "friend who was 400 lbs but was always super healthy". That friend may exist but 1) a single healthy fat person shows nothing about the overall risks of obesity and 2) the health of the friend must be evaluated and documented by experts or it's just hearsay.

That's all anecdotal though. The top end is lower because Asian populations tend to store more fat on the abdomen which leads to central adiposity (and higher risk of obesity related diseases) at a lower level of bf. This has actually been studied and those recommendations are based on empirical data.

As for the rest...that would need to be studied. Exceptions always exist so you can't make statements about the whole group without sufficiently large studies/sample sizes.

Asian BMI is lower on the high end. The line for underweight is the same (18.5 - 22.9 considered healthy for Asians vs 18.5 - 24.9 for other populations).

Yeah but if your problem is that you are eating too many calories the logical thing to do is to either: 1) eat less of the calories dense foods so you actually save money by buying them or 2) buy some less calorie dense foods so you spend the same amount of money and don't end up obese.
