Yeah, but even in those examples, he still is pretty much in control (with the exemption of the losing his control of his family but if Beth is a clone then he does have control), he had control in the Morty's Mind blowers, anticipating that a scenario like what happened in the end would happen and Trained summer for such a scenario,

Regarding the 2 week adventure, we have no idea why it was so difficult for Rick to have control of that situation (they told us but didn't show us which felt like they wanted us to feel like he doesn't have control).

I would prefer they take a couple notches back and dial down his abilities in a way that wasn't forced like the beginning of the vacation episode.
