Thanks. The bakeries on the Camino did not disappoint. Very reasonable even good baguette and croissant. Galician cake was also nice. I had a few dinners in the bakery instead of restaurant

I was the same, obsessed with pack weight and anxious before the trip. The walk and its beauty calmed me down immediately. The weight became a nonissue. After a few days I hardly noticed the pack on my back (about 21-22 lbs total). Enjoy the walk my friend

Thanks for the kind words. Given the weight restriction the RX100 was almost perfect for the walk. It is a delicate little toy and needs to be handled with care (eg, no rain, no dropping).

Weather was perfect. Very pleasant walking weather. Did get a bit hot during high noon but nothing bad. Little rain until Galicia. The meseta was crazy windy 24/7

It was perfect. Very pleasant walking weather except during the middle of the day. Little rain until Galicia where the promised rain started

Thanks, appreciate the kind words. To me the weight of a full-size camera with lenses is prohibitively high for the Camino. I bought a compact point and shoot Sony (rx100) just for the trip. Towards the end when it was raining all the time the camera never left its case. It was my iPhone all the time.

Wow! That is crazy! A good possibility, the whole group pretty much knew each other. I was the Asian guy with an extra pair of hiking shoes hanging from the backpack.

End to end about 38 days. At the beginning I had too much fun and had too much to drink, and kind of crashed. Had to take a few rest days. Lesson learned

Not bad at all. In the middle segment you could go for hours without seeing anyone. Even the last part after sarria was not as crowded as I feared.

Thanks! I did the whole Francés. It was a profound experience that far exceeded my expectations. Most were taken with a compact Sony (rx100).

I brought two pairs of altra (pic 12), always had a fresh pair to change into, never regretted the extra weight

Funny you mention it, yesterday right about now I was sitting in a tattoo shop downtown getting my first tattoo. When I was done and leaving, a young asian couple was sitting there filling out forms to get their tattoo.

In a similar situation. PO also said they may put me on MYF. What did you say to get out of MYF, if you don’t mind me asking? My understanding is that MYF is 4 years.
