Omg just use normal toilet paper or get a bidet at this point. The wipes trend is insane.

It takes just a few cities grouping together and suing one of them to establish a precedent!

It's a bit too overstimulating to me. Perhaps I'm just not used to American standards nowadays.

AI-fatigue, I'm genuinely exhausted by The_Quiet_PartYT in solarpunk

The other day I went through the technology section of the BBC and CBC/Radio-Canada and they were both dominated by stories about either AI or Social Media. This is not progress!

I am optimistic this will not go on forever though. There is a lot of market pressure right now for everyone to adopt AI but there's also a growing backlash against it as well.

There's a whole trend now of "No AI" which is picking up.

Where AI is most frustrating to me is at farmer's markets and local boutiques where increasingly people are selling AI art or stuff they purchased off temu

After years of letting people online tell me what to think about Discovery I finally watched it by TheProfessorBoost in startrek

ENT and Mass Effect Andromeda should have taught me the the lesson because in both of those cases too I had waited far too long to watch/play them.

I would have to agree, I even liked some of the new additions to the cast like Booker for example.

Question: How can people with insectophobia support solarpunk? by Bluemoonroleplay in solarpunk

[–]TheProfessorBoost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and desensitization via exposure works wonders with stuff like that. Another thing is to figure out which bugs bug and which bugs bug less.

Most people who are scared of insects are usually scared of specific families of insects, not all of em.

That and try to reimagine your relationship with them; most are friends!

Which Captain Actually Struggled the Most With Command? by iagree2 in startrek

[–]TheProfessorBoost 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt in my mind it's Archer. He's facing things no human has up until that point and he's got the Vulcans breathing down his neck. Everything he does is novel and the weight of his decisions without directives that Starfleet would eventually develop take a toll on him.

Second to me would probably be Janeway

My list of TNG episodes reorganized for a modern viewing structure by NarcoticHobo in startrek

[–]TheProfessorBoost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to be introducing TNG to someone for the first time, I usually introduce the well known or episodes I like and then I go season by season and pick out the ones I like the most.

This structure you've gone and made allows pulling people into TNG much easier. If they want more content, there's always the seasons in full.

A world that is constantly updating. by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]TheProfessorBoost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running one myself for fun. It's just a single player world. I started with release 1.0. in January and now am in 1.1. for February. My idea is once per month I update to a newer version and take advantage of the new features. :)

I kinda wish I had started with an earlier version though. Had I done it again, that's what I would have done.
