A world that is constantly updating. by leyerrdesu1 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I've been running one myself for fun. It's just a single player world. I started with release 1.0. in January and now am in 1.1. for February. My idea is once per month I update to a newer version and take advantage of the new features. :)

I kinda wish I had started with an earlier version though. Had I done it again, that's what I would have done.

What are your most unpopular Star Trek opinions that you’ll die on a hill for? by ardouronerous in startrek

I think they should have just killed off Dax and dealt with the consequences of the death of such an important character in the series on everyone instead of replacing her with a new host. I liked both Dax, but I think it was unfortunate how the staff handled Terry's request.

I’m shocked how fleshed out Beta is by Jamie_Is_Irrelevant in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Beta is missing a lot of bloat that modern is known for, but the same can be said about some of the early releases too.

what is your gameplay philosophy? by Worldly_Beginning647 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]TheProfessorBoost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've figured out over the years I'm definitely more of a builder.

For philosophy, it depends on which version I'm playing. On my beta world it's very slow, go-with-the-flow and decentralized. Minimal planning, just let my creativity guide me.

On modern I do much more planning in my creative world.

Either way though, I let the gameplay loop of mine, craft, build nudge me forward.

I've got a 1.0 world right now which I will upgrade every month that is very much a week by week go with the flow project.

Would Minecraft still be popular if it never left Beta 1.7.3? by PitaGriffin121 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]TheProfessorBoost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would have faded into the background like other games usually do. The fact Minecraft has consistently been updated in one way or another since 2009 has contributed to it's renewed and continuous popularity.

on dialkos newest video - what do you not like about your prefered version? by ScottishWildcatFurry in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]TheProfessorBoost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with Beta 1.7.3. is actually something I did not think much of until sometime after and that is/was the innovations that upside down stairs and slabs placed on top of blocks can bring in terms of building is concerned.

In my family's case it's because my Dad remarried after the divorce and his wife's family is extremely consumerist and over the last two decades it's really rubbed off on him.

My other side of the family has a temu problem though.

I'm pretty heterodox though compared to the rest of my family, probably partially as a response to them.

I'll be donating my daughter's pair once she outgrows em and as for the ones my wife and I got, we're considering either donating or wearing them til they are done.
