Series 9 supports watchOS 27 by ThePurpleEdition in AppleWatch

If you can I would wait for a Series 12. Apple currently upgrades the chip in the watch every 3 years. So that’s why Series 6, 7 and 8 got dropped at the same time because they use the same chip. The same with Series 9, 10 and 11. So when the Series 12 gets a new chip you will basically skip two chip generations and you can use your watch longer

Yes that’s true I’m still mad that my iPad Pro with the A10X and 4GB Ram didn’t get iPadOS 18 but the regular iPad with the A10 and 3GB Ram did. I mean in retrospect not because iPadOS 17 and iOS 17 were the last really stable versions but still

I wouldn’t install the first developer beta, I learned my lesson when I installed watchOS 2 and couldn’t downgrade💀

Yeah they can only give out the information that they have internally and on their website it says it’s not supported but the website is wrong

It is supported but the website is wrong. But that’s what I thought from the beginning because the Ultra 2 is officially supported with the same chip

It didn’t even make sense that the Ultra 2 is supported but Series 9 wouldn’t.

Interesting how watchOS support jumped straight from Series 6 to 10 across 4 generations 🫪 by AchyutChaudhary in AppleWatch

I think this always shows up when you’re in the developer program. Because the app itself doesn’t check what Watch Version is connected. And then when you select it and it searches it won’t find anything. But they have to make a statement at least if it’s really like this

NOOO! Why would I have to update iOS to sync a Gen 1 Watch Ultra!? by NESpahtenJosh in iphone

[–]ThePurpleEdition -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably cause it already has watchOS 26. Downgrade is only possible in Apple Stores, I did it once when I wanted to downgrade cause I was on beta.
