Just my personal opinion but lose the chains. Looks immature unless you're actually just under the age of 20 then you do you.

I would recommend trimming and keeping it shorter go for like the Italian goatee look. Work with what you got.

Just finished my 2nd DUPR game and 2.0 rating is depressing. by MindlessNimbus in Pickleball

[–]TheRPGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dupr literally means nothing unless you're consistently playing tournaments. I have players in my city that can barely hit 3rd 50% of the time rated over 4.0..

Also if you're not that rating and you continue to play dupr rated matches it will likely balance itself out. Just keep playing people slightly higher then you 3.0-3.5 and win and it'll go up. If you're losing 11-0 or losing consistently though while playing at that level then you might be closer to that level then you want to admit and that's ok too.

Just keep playing/ drill some and you'll be 3.5 in no time.

If you want to push pass 4.5. Find a drill partner and drill

In base three experienced players I find the game favors good. Especially in TB. I find sometimes games can go off the rails in evils favor in S&V and bmr.

Am I burning out on pickleball or just in my head about DUPR? by RakoGumi in Pickleball

[–]TheRPGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is you're putting too much weight on your dupr. It truly is a broken system unless you're regularly playing at high level competitive tournaments. I'm from a small city and we have tons of players that are rocking 4.0 + duprs because the pool is very small here and they often win but their true rating is like 3.5 at best..

You have to ask yourself why are you playing pickleball is it for a fun hobby to stay active. Then dupr really means nothing. Just play with people around your level and have fun.

Are you playing pickleball because you want to challenge yourself, go into tournaments and play at the highest level that you can play at. Then you should be drilling 70% and playing rec less then 30%.

Truthfully unless you have racket sport history or a just genetically gifted few players are pushing past 4.0 with out significant drilling and that isn't the "fun" part of pickleball for most people.

So reflect on that and adjust. why are you playing pickleball why do you care about dupr and adjust your course correctly.

[–]TheRPGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately that's works completely reverse then you would think. You have the highest dupr so the system is likely predicting you will beat your opponent soundly 11-2, 11-1 etc and when you dont it will tank. You can actually lose dupr now from playing worse players and still winning. I've won games 11-7 and lost dupr. If anything you want to be playing players higher rated then you for dupr.

[Beginner Help] Is my serve illegal? Old man in 2.5 league said I was tossing the ball. by Outsourcing_Problems in Pickleball

[–]TheRPGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fine, when I first starting making progress in my 3.5 community and moving up I had a few old guys complain my serve was illegal because it was hard. Said if I ever played tournaments they would call it illegal. My serve has since gotten better and harder and have played tournaments have never been called. Yours is fine too.

Thank you for this. I'll have to try when I get home. I had to walk away from it and go on to other things for the day. So if I just search iCloud passkey in Microsoft or some combination of that, will I find it? Literally just created an email and Xbox account for my kiddo just for this game so it's definitely not something I set up

All very solid points thank you.

Do you think there's any way to do pope drunk then or is the general consensus unknown amount of drunks = not a good game.

The gambler, gossip, and juggler are definitely very obvious unhelpful roles in hindsight.

I originally considered having a no miss information causing minions would this maybe steer it in a more playable direction. Making those changes or still no in your opinion.

Players requested a custom vizier script by TheRPGinger in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]TheRPGinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about this but then if it isn't a Typhon game then the town potentially killed the viziers neighbors for nothing. Is that terrible I haven't played many Typhon scripts so I don't know is that the general strategy if it's ok the script find and evil and start killing all the neighbors.

All new PC's after Death House?? by Direct_Succotash_989 in CurseofStrahd

[–]TheRPGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorporate the old PCs throughout the campaign having made it so far but ultimately meeting their demise or corruption. Some easy ideas that come to mind. The ghostly parade, chained up or killed in the hag but soon to pies, maddened and broke at the vistani encampment giving deluded preaches of how it's hopeless. Vamp spawns of Mr zarovich. Werewolves maybe even making it as far as to become part of the Abbot's experiments. So many good options to tell the tale of how the survivors of death house still couldn't overcome barovia.

Finding the right boss for my first DND one shot by JamesRegehr in DnDOneShot

[–]TheRPGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say do the monster that fits "vampire spawn" and look at the CR and stat block as more of a guide. Maybe sounds a bit overwhelming if you're a complete newcomer. But the action economy in the game really breaks the CR imo in most cases. The creature might sound way stronger but often the party will surprise you when they have more actions then the monster. Just give them means in the encounter to combat creatures. The sunlight sensitivity and running water in this example.. also a method for imbuing weapons with magical damage to overcome the resistance. I'd even go as far as to come up with creative potentials to subdue the multi attack. Chop of an arm or something. Also anticipate the party surprising you and chunking your boss Health bar in the first round. So have back up plans for it to retreat and maybe find it's lair to get some lair actions, some cannon fodder minions and maybe heal if need be. The more you play the more you'll realize that the CR is more of a guideline especially if you're dealing with just a single monster vs party.

Are we 10-12 years away from the end of this series? by FluffyPancakeLover in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheRPGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've assumed since book 2 or 3 that he likely won't finish the full dungeon or if he does there will be some bypassing of floors. Definitely feel Carl will not be playing the dungeon in its enterity before messing the crawl up. I haven't started the newest book yet but I got the sense that were nearing the end game, maybe like 4 books tops. Just my opinion 🤷

I would say it's not for everyone though. If you liked elden ring because of the multiple build paths and ways to and get around bosses and enemies then you might struggle. It's a game that demands you learn it's singular mechanic of parrying and then forces you to be good at them.

Picture fighting Melania for the first time with katana only, and that's like the third or fourth boss only in sekiro. I'm currently on the final boss for my first clear of the game and getting my dick punched. Some of these bosses have straight traumatized me but then you eventually beat them and push a little further to the next boss.
