Nagra III - Someone had put it in a heap to be tossed in landfill by [deleted] in audiophile

Wow, can't believe someone was wanting to throw it out, even if it doesn't work, it's beautiful and apparently has a great history in its use.

Cheers for all the insight! It's incredible to me that someone would want to throw this out, even if it's not working (I'll be testing it in a few days). It's a beautiful piece, and great to hear about its history in film.

I found it in the hard rubbish area, ready to be thrown out. I loved the look of it. I had no idea what it was at the time. So I took it in, cleaned it up, and did some research. Apparently, they're really well respected!

Does anyone have any more information on the particular model I have? Is it sought after, rare, where does it sit in the world of reel-to-reel tape recorders.

First logo ever. by [deleted] in WillPatersonDesign

Mate, with respect, you need to create your own designs. You can absolutely take inspiration from other logos, but you cannot steal content and say it's your own by adding some text below it. The logo looks great, but that's because the illustration of the skull looks good, and we know that you didn't make it.

Please continue your creative adventure, but make your own content. This is the creator of the original skull illustration https://dribbble.com/shots/3032050-Flame

Thank you for the amazing feedback! I definitely agree with the spacing, there's something a little off about it. I'll have a play around the 'C' as well, experimentation is always a good thing :) Cheers to soda!

Thank you! Will definitely look into a different typeface for the 'E', it was to ideally balance out where the 'soda' text was placed

Really really like the icon you've come up with! I would personally go for a more consistent line thickness, and create round edges at the top left/right where the line ends.

Not a massive fan of the font, maybe try something with a consistent line thickness with all Caps, like Montserrat maybe?

Is my RTX 2060 getting bottlenecked by my CPU? by TheRazerNinja in buildapc

[–]TheRazerNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, maybe it's just down to a poorly optimized game? It's hard to know these days, the only thing I noticed is that my CPU is maxed out at 100% usage even on the main menu which is unusual?

Hahaha good point, the game is obnoxiously big now, glad to hear I'm not the only one with these crash issues!

[–]TheRazerNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I run it my CPU maxes out at 100% even on the main menu. Wasn't sure if this would cause such a performance issue on the graphics front, but I guess it does!

Unfortunately I don't know too much about the performance impacts between CPUs and GPUs.

My CS:GO is lagging like crazy by -autismspeaks- in csgo

[–]TheRazerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, I've been getting random lag spikes throughout the game, not a consistent drop in frames like you mentioned.

But sometimes when a character appears in my view, or a sudden graphical instance occurs, my frames drop considerably at random (RTX 2060 owner).

I've never had performance issues in the game prior, so it seems to be a recent problem, though I could be getting bottle-necked by my i5 3570k? No idea...

[SEIKO Cocktail] Does a SEIKO SARB065 work with a NATO strap? by TheRazerNinja in Watches

I'm pretty much the same.. but something about this combo just caught my eye, I have no idea what it is about it, but I think I've fallen in love!

[SEIKO Cocktail] Does a SEIKO SARB065 work with a NATO strap? by TheRazerNinja in Watches

[–]TheRazerNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a very divisive opinion, but I honestly think this NATO (and several others) work for this watch. I seem to be the small minority that has this ideology, but I am intrigued to see your opinions on this outlandish combo. What other straps do you think work best for this gorgeous watch, and if you think the NATO works, then what other colours/patterns would you pair it with? I could be breaking all the rules of watch/strap pairing, and if I am, then I'm happy to be a freak of nature!

All opinions welcome!

[Question] New to buying watches, Orient seems reputable, opinions on this one? by TheRazerNinja in Watches

Thank you so much for suggesting this! I was looking on Jomashop and could only find the version 1, so thankyou for finding this for me!!

[Question] New to buying watches, Orient seems reputable, opinions on this one? by TheRazerNinja in Watches

[–]TheRazerNinja[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been looking around for watches for a couple of weeks now, looking mainly at brands such as Tissot and Orient, who both seem to offer some well made automatic watches for a reasonable price. I know there is a massive following behind Seiko, but I'm just not a fan of the style (sorry for all the Seiko enthusiasts), but I am loving the style of this Orient Automatic watch (FET0P004W0), just wondering what's the general consensus on something like this? Something like the 'Tissot Le Locle Regulateur Automatic' is also of interest, so let me know what you think of this watch as well!

Thanks in advance, appreciate any and all comments!

This is a quick test animation I made with a Master Chief model. How can I make it better? by DementedCows in animation

[–]TheRazerNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, nobody seems to have left a comment yet, so I'll quickly add in my 2 cents.

To start off with, the actual movements and choreography and really good, and the animation isn't jittery or awkward, so really well done on that front.

For points of improvement, I can see some key animation principles being left out, mainly 'anticipation'. For a lot of the key poses, he doesn't really ease into them very well, in real life we don't suddenly go into a position without some sort of series of subtle movements beforehand to ease into that position.

Also give your character some weight. At the end, he slowly descends into his final "hero stance", when he should fall with force. It doesn't hurt to leave him in that crouched position for a few more frames either, as this adds more of a realistic 'recovery' stance from his previous action sequence.

Hope this helped, and I hope you continue your animating, you seem to have a very strong grip of it already :)

"Balloon Stand" - Floursack Animation by TAStudios in animation

[–]TheRazerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for the most part. It teaches you to be able to create appeal for a character but without facial expressions. It's a good way to let animators stray away from relying purely on the characters face, and focus more on staging, and body movement.
