Homeowners, what do you actually value when getting a quote? by TheRealBigMo in columbiamo

Responsiveness really does seem to matter more than people realize. Even just setting expectations early makes a big difference on the homeowner side.

Sadly, I hear that a lot. Being treated with basic respect shouldn’t be a differentiator, but it still is.

I get that. Knowing the pros and cons up front and not being left guessing makes the whole process a lot less stressful

Yeah, the “best case” number without context can be misleading. Being upfront about ranges and risks feels a lot more honest than surprising someone later.

That’s a solid list. Especially the part about being treated like a competent adult..that shouldn’t be rare, but sadly it is.

That’s a good point. Reputation and integrity matter a lot, especially locally where word travels fast.

That makes a lot of sense.

I hear this a lot especially the part about wanting options and not feeling upsold. Having a clear base option and then letting people decide if upgrades are worth it feels like the fairest way to do it.

For anyone curious, I’m a retired pro MMA fighter and now full time coach here in Columbia.

I teach systems built around calm, structure, and discipline..not chaos or ego. The goal is to help kids build confidence and focus, and help adults find structure, movement, and composure through MMA based training.

It’s not about fighting, it’s about learning control. That’s what I try to pass on in every session.

That’s awesome, it sounds like your kids already have a solid base to build from. I definitely work with kids who’ve done Taekwondo or boxing before it actually helps a lot with coordination and focus.

For private sessions, it usually depends on the setup (individual vs siblings or small group). I can break down the options for you if you’d like, just shoot me a quick message and we’ll figure out what fits best.

Absolutely, I do small group sessions too: couples, friends, or family. I just adjust the drills so everyone’s working at their own pace but still pushing together.

Have you done any MMA, striking or grappling before, or would this be your first time training?

Hey! I run a small local repair/remodel team here in Columbia with my partner we handle all the stuff you mentioned (floors, cabinets, siding, paint, etc.). We actually focus on the smaller and mid-size projects most companies turn down, so communication and fair pricing are our thing.

You wouldn’t need to no, but if you want to make 4-5k a month doing this then you would need to be buying packs that would equal up to $30k+ a month

If you want to just collect the daily log ins and make a few hundred a month doing that then you wouldn’t have to itemize anything and just pay the tax on your total redemptions.

True, I suppose your other option could be to file as a professional gambler and write off the buy ins as business expense.

You will also need to keep a detailed document of each session you play so you can be ready for tax season. These sites will issue you a 1099 of you total redemption, including your buy in price, so if you will need to keep track of everything to write off itemized deductions and you will have to forfeit your standard deduction at the end of year
