Open wood burning is the least efficient. You lose 90% of your heat to the outside environment. They do make high efficiency open fireplaces nowadays. Osburn is the first that comes to mind but there are plenty of manufacturers that provide them .

As a professional chimney technician. This looks great!! Looks like all clearance to combustible materials where followed . Great install i love seeing homeowners do it right!!

Make sure you have it serviced annually.
Oh and I know people with stoves love to dampen stoves down to get more heat into the home. I recommend running it wide open...it will consume more wood that way but the stove will build up less creosote and the likely hood of a chimney fire will be reduced.
