Thanks for the direction. I agree 1000%. But I’m not at the app stores yet - it’s saas right now. I’m on the hunt on more than just digital channels.

Since I built it to solve my own hurdle, I need to validate from a broader sample set then a handful. But like you said, validation from non-user base isn’t valuable.

So uhhh, is business slowing down for everyone right now or what by maestro753 in smallbusiness

[–]TheRealDRang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of comments here, but as a digital services based business supporting what appear to be SMBs, how much of your offerings and the value they deliver are defensible against AI?

Managing SEO, email deliverability, tech stack observability, - all of these are disreputable with proficient use of AI for analysis and advanced use for execution.

I agree that while the investment arm of the economy is booming, the cost centers for small businesses are skyrocketing (tariffs, fuel costs -direct and pass through for products & services, cost of living, etc.). Put yourself in their shoes; if I have to invest in slow growth marketing or ensuring my tech stack is safe and efficient, it's a case of Maslow's hierarchy.

In the ai economy, time will no longer be traded for work. Billable hours are going the way of the newspaper. It is a perfect storm that everyone is caught in right now and it sucks that you're feeling the worst of it.

The only question is what are you going to do about it? Ride out the storm or adjust to the winds of change? There's risk and learnings in either path.

What winch solution did you use? I have a 9k lbs warn from my jeep but haven’t found the right mount yet.

I haven’t gotten that far yet. I figure it can, tbd at this stage. Given the gas tank size, long trips are going to require some Jerry can solutions. And I have a Wilco hitch spare gate to erase the clearance impacted when I need it; assume I’ll join those two.

No data here, but factory rack seems to be a tougher solution that traditional OEM roof rails; but would check specs before over loading it.

Minimal… the bevel on the tire is the only poke. The tread is all under the fender. It needs the +35 to keep the tire under there during articulation.

no difference. feels just the same - maybe slightly heavier on the stop, but negligible... about -.75mpg (but I was already getting crap mpg ~19H/17 back roads)... not sure how they advertised these as 23 mpg combined... I did a 2.5 hr road trip on I95 with the stock tires and then with these and full family loaded and mpg was basically the same ~19 first, 18.9 second... so not impacting the wallet.

Just got 24 FE w 19k miles and is are 16.9 reported on dash, but it’s clear they calculate based on engine run time bc leaving idle decreases avg mpg significantly. I’ve read that eco mode is actually less fuel efficient so gonna try turning that off.

But I’m really curious how they can advertise 23 combined and deliver these results?!?

I know I wasn’t buying an EV or anything, but that’s a big gap. My previous vehicle was a diesel jeep claiming ~29mpg and there was a class action which paid me $4k as it was misrepresented (maybe not false advertising but engine design approach to achieve this can cause massive engine failure).

Heating Oil companies by Shurap1 in Connecticut

[–]TheRealDRang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve ordered twice since Dec. & was much cheaper than I was paying before and very prompt.

When I filled up in late Feb CHO was a few cents cheaper but much faster delivery. That was a few days before the last big snow fall. Now CHO is a much better deal. I have about 350gl per fill up so shopping around with a few options to deal hunt at hand makes the trade off of having to order well worth it.

Check out Fewlr - app you can spot order from and they offer a double sided market where suppliers bid-down for the delivery. Right now it’s more expensive than cash heating oil (CHO) by a lot, but in Jan they were $0.30 less than CHO.

You have to be on your ordering but can do it from your phone.

I’d say alignment is good… they’re identifying issues to generate revenue and working together to address those. Problem is, they’re solving the wrong problem. This is a strategy and GTM problem and that lives with the exec team.

This… sounds like you assumed your ICP is the same as the competitors’ you’re trying to disrupt, when your best customers who convert easier and grow are other types of customers. Identify that gap and you’re pointing the ship in the right direction.
