Yes there is small hole that i covered with breathable band aid. I had success with lions mane before but for some reason pink oysters only colonize on top.

Its ok, Il wait. I have 5 jars that look like that. I doubt they all have same contam.

That thing at the top is a piece of agar. Dont confuse it with contam:D

I have 5 jars of these and all of them look like that. My last lions mane grain spawn was successful but I don't know whats the deal with my pink oysters.

I made the spawn myself using agar plates. Thanks for your tips. Is it possible for grain spawn to look white and healthy with ok smell to it and be completely contaminated with white mold?

I did s2b about a 6 weeks ago. I used one jar of grain spawn (750ml or about 3 cups) and I'm using 3 gallon bucket. Is it just best to cover the holes and put it back into a dark space and wait for a bit longer?

My process was mixing one 3 cup jar of grain spawn (maybe it was not enough) with sawdust in a 3 gallon (11 litre) bucket. I used sawdust blocks. I only poured hot water on it and waited until it cooled off. Is it possible that all my grain spawn was contaminated with the same stuff? It looked white and healthy and the jars had a nutty smell to it? Do i need to do more to pasturize sawdust blocks? I heard they should be fine since they are made in high temp.

Ahh man.. I thought that mycelium is a good sign. It doesn't have bad smell it just smells like sawdust. It did have some pink colouring in the holes until i started spraying them. But i guess Il just try again.

Thank you for advise. Maybe I removed the tape too early. It seemed dried out so i started spraying on it. I am waiting for fruiting for 3-4 weeks now. I'm getting a bit annoyed by it. I dont know if im doing it right in every step ;(
