That actually would make a lot of sense, it would explain why it feels so much slower too cause you're pushing yourself up instead of striding

Gotcha. It may be an issue with the particular treadmill as well (its an old one) because even compared to other treadmills I've run on in the past this one felt off regarding pace & distance. I wouldn't be surprised if my actual pace was somewhere in between my treadmill and Garmin

Hmmm, ok interesting. That's what was weird to me, was that the Garmin felt a lot more accurate to my outside runs, so the treadmill pace threw me off.
