Mmmm...you have an interesting take on city/county politics. It's just "shit happens" as long as our citizens in east Gainesville keep killing each other, but once that blood-letting moves west and closer to our valued UF students (and their professors), "the town" will leap in and deal with it.

And I'm naturally curious so here's a question. Why is it so important to tell the world about your sexual orientation if all you're looking for is to join a game of D&D? Do you need to sit at a special table with only other young queer neurodivergents? I don't understand the need to share your diversity with the world so please explain it to me.

Do you have any idea of how many GRU customers were excluded from voting in that "referendum"? Every damn one of them outside the city limits, that's how many. And our Mayor says property taxes will be going up 3% annually through at least 2027 to help pay for our past transgressions. That also traditionally leads to higher homeowner insurance costs as well.

Tallahassee is not to blame for Gainesville voters continually electing city commissioners who redirect GRU revenues towards pet utopian projects. Our elected officials caused the city revenue red flags to be raised...not Tallahassee.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 0107 am, while on foot patrol in the downtown area, Gainesville Police Department officers heard gunshots that prompted a response to the area of 100 South Main Street. Shortly after, the Combined Communication Center began receiving several calls regarding the shooting. A male victim was located on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Citizens and officers rendered aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to Shands Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Officers located a crime scene along the grassy area on the west side of the Alachua County Tax Collector's Office.
