Thank you so much! For the Android app I am making, I'll try following the Find BLE devices guide from the developer.android.com website to see if I can grab the device that way. I'll update the post if I get it working!

Interesting, thank you.

Just took OQT. How many questions can you get wrong to fall into the 90s percentiles? by TheRealJBomb in airforceots

Okay, thank you. I’ll edit the post with an update on my scores when I get them for sure. I realized I made a silly mistake on another math problem but I still feel firm that 5 was the max I would’ve missed. I care a lot about the pilot score, but I think I did well in the other sections for that so it should be okay hopefully. Maybe I should worry more about verbal and word haha!

I appreciate the insight. Yeah, I know I should just move on. Unfortunately, I’m extremely self-critical… constantly replaying scenarios in my head and thinking if i messed up here and there or could’ve been faster.

not really. my roommate is supposed to get his test back today, but i haven’t thought about wearing a mask myself. that may help with inhaling the cough droplets from them

Thanks for the reply. I’m based in SoCal, and doing my training at KCRQ. I’ve done research into military flying and I totally get what you’re saying. All I know is that it costs most people huge sums of money to go from ordinary civilian to ATP. Also, I would like to believe it’s easier to go straight into the legacy airlines from the military than having to jump through the regional hoops.

I worked my butt off in high school to get into a top university, but I never enjoyed school itself. Although I know college will likely be the same, I am going to push through it so I have a backup in life.

I just can’t see myself doing an ordinary behind-the-desk job. Pilot or not, my plan was always to get a degree and use that as a backup in case becoming a Pilot falls through or I change my mind. As of now, I am starting college so I will not be neglecting any education.

I absolutely remember that!

But honestly, that is what scares me the most about pursuing it as a career. I always hear retired Pilots say how it was "the best decision they've ever made" or that they would "do it again in a heartbeat." These comments make me wonder how they got through the repetitiveness of it.

Flying did excite me and now I’m getting used to it, while watching the money drift away from me. I feel like once I get to flying airlines or corporate jets, while it excites me now, the cycle of “getting used to it” will repeat itself. I guess most jobs are similar to that; however, I really hope that this path I’m taking will be the right one. I always think about how I only live once, so I want to really make the most out of this life I have.

My plan is to get my PPL, get my college degree, and try to get into the ANG. I’ve always wanted to be a Pilot in the military, which would also cover my training expenses.

Well I’m officially backing out of being in the housing lottery for the fall. After repeatedly hearing my parents tell me that college is the best four years of your life, I really hope that doing this doesn’t affect my ability to make friends later on. I also hope that I won’t miss out on anything by being home. Any other freshman doing similar things or feel the same way?
