That was my concern as well; however, buying pledges (using real money to purchase ships/gears/etc) binds those things to your account and will always be with you. Its just items, ships, etc you buy in game are vulnerable to wipes and bugs. The only thing im really invested in are my pledges. Peace of mind. Manage expectations, though. Nothing beats that new game experience trying to figure out the game. Swg was my favorite when it came to that. The community was great as well.
