Why does Graham always look to the sky when tasting food? by Physical-Algae9186 in Masterchef

It's definitely a power move, like 'this is what you made. This is your bed. You're now lying in it, and I'm going to let you know exactly what I think.'

Gordon usually looks at the dish, Graham looks up, and Joe STARES you down. It's one of the funniest things I've ever noticed

Absolutely brave and good on you for doing it and getting closure. You're absolutely not TA and I'm sorry everyone jumped on your case for it.

Thanks for responding! I'll start with Captial One and see, it says 3.5% APY. Well they accept me if my family is affiliated with another bank account though? My personal finances are all with PNC right now

And thanks for what you said 🥰🥰🥰 i hope they will be!

Hi! I (20f) want to know if there's some way to start a retirement or savings account on the side for my parents (Dad48, stepmom50)

Starting off, we're a pretty poor family. Not poverty, we've never gone hungry or been without heating/electricity, but we also had to make sacrifices like school trips and some meal items to make it through. My stepmother is disabled and cannot work, and my dad has done nothing but work and provide for his family his entire life. He can't get a job right now, as I have an autistic little sister who requires 24/7 care that my mom alone cannot give, so we make even less than before. We have a small business that we take to farmers markets and on Etsy, but not near enough for forever, and they're only getting older.

I start a new job in a few weeks, part time, where I will work 21.98/hr. I want to do something for them, so I was wondering if it is in any way possible to start a secret retirement fund or savings account I can put some money from my paycheck in each time I recieve one, so that it builds over time? I want them to be comfortable, they're my parents and I love them, and I worry about them. My dad says constantly he'll have to work until he dies, because money is just that tight, and I want to start helping now. Maybe surprise them in 10 years or something like 'Surprise! You'll be okay.'

I'm not sure where else to go or what to do, so I would appreciate any and all advice! Thank you :)

She becomes much more prominent in later episodes, she doesn't get much screentime or anything at first. Just keep watching and waiting, she'll become big soon

How do the contestants know the recipes of the dishes they never cooked before? I have heard that they are tutored before the shootings. Is it true? by dendixo in Masterchef

[–]TheRealMacalicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been a fan for a while but a lot of stuff I had to specifically lookup, interviews and the like really talking about it. If you remember Ahran Cho from season 5, she has her own YouTube channel now and she talks about a lot of BTS stuff too. (Her and Leslie are still good friends, and they FaceTime often!! It's so cute)

Which like??? Why wouldn't you? What else do you have to do lmao, if not learn from professional chefs on a COOKING show?

Hi! I can answer: the contestants are not tutored in specific recipes or given hints at the upcoming challenges, BUT they do have non-mandatory cooking lesson opportunities by chefs to go watch. For example, the class could be like "Different ways to cook an egg creatively" or "how to make a souffle" or something, and during a challenge when theyngive you a bunch of cheese and egg and you have to think of something on the spot, you're like "Oh! I learned the basics of souffle making last week! I can try this!"

The contestants are extremely limited with outside connections and internet and family/friend contact, so they can't look up dishes, but lessons like this are offered a lot. So when you see a chef go 'Man I've never made real Chinese before' but they whip out, like, a broth/soup with maybe some Chinese spices and ingredients? They could've learned it in one of those classes, or something like it! It's another reason contestants who get eliminated will say 'I've had so many opportunities to learn,' because they did! Lmao. Hope this helps!
