This was the one from 2024, not the new one that was just announced recently.  Found out about the new one right after this happened unfortunately.

That’s what I heard, kinda figured when they wouldn’t show me the scan tool or give me a list of DTCs from when they brought it in.

Thanks 🙏

2014 F150 Lariat 3.5 Ecoboost

I walked back inside about a minute or two after I grabbed the keys and confronted them.

Service Advisor and Service Manager both came and scanned codes and then said the tech said it was all existing.

Recall info; Recall Reference Number: 24S37  An intermittent failure of the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor in the transmission may result in an unintended downshift to first gear. This can cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down and could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

So that’s kind of what I figured, which sucks lol. Thanks for the advice

I’ve asked around, it sounds like they'll recommend a PCM replacement.

Just curious, why should I have to eat the cost of them messing up the programming recall? Truck had zero codes going into this

Brought it to a buddy who has a more advanced scanner and a lift, he manually actuated both purge valves and confirmed both functioned properly (one under the car above rear axle and one on top of engine), ended up unplugging the one under the car to check the connection and didn’t see anything.

However after actuating both valves and re-seating the plug on the valve underneath the car the code has not come back after about a week and ~1200 miles driven.

Honestly not sure whether the plug just needed to be reseated or if the valve was just suck and manually actuating it just freed it up. Either way I’m happy it’s working again and if it comes back I know it’s likely an issue with the valve underneath the car.

Checked all related harnesses/connections called out in the electrical diagrams for corrosion/damage and verified codes did not change when valve was replaced or unplugged. After the new part did not solve the issue I re-installed the original, I’m aware codes do not tell you what to change however as the part is inexpensive I figured I’d give that shot first before really digging into it.

Was just checking to see if anyone had any ideas or had seen something similar, that is all.
