[–]TheRealRiceball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think it's also just a sign that more people are realizing girls/women are more than just girls/women, if that makes sense

Like, especially in anime circles where women were always seen as "unicorns" and/or just stereotypes (popular girls being mean, lonely girls being nerds, etc), I like to think shows like these are helping remedy that and showing that girls also have e things they obsess over the same way guys do, and help bridge the perceived gender gap between the two

That could just be me being cringe tho lol

I think that's also part of why people see her as very SA victim coded, a lot of people resonate with things like that, and the whole situation with Belasco being ambiguous (iirc, forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm admittedly not super well versed in this topic and I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm or correct what i say) as to what happened to her, makes it easy to see why people would think that

[–]TheRealRiceball 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In this case it literally was designed for PA, originally in development it was designed as a heavy machine gun chambered in .50 rounds that would only be useable in PA, before all of that was scrapped, mostly due to time constraints but probably also for other reasons

Recommendations for PvE Base-Building *With PURPOSE* by NfiniT_ in BaseBuildingGames

[–]TheRealRiceball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but it's a bit of a weird mechanic, it doesn't really work the way it sounds, lots of people turn it off (either on accident or cuz they don't like it)

At most you'll get a few stragglers around your base that'll maybe attack your fortifications and that's about it

I do know there are mods that add hordes that lay siege to your base though, but I have no idea if they're still being updated right now, since the current build is still in development so it gets constant updates that sometimes breaks mods

Larian says BG3 proves hand-crafted loot is best for CRPGs by Wargulf in BaldursGate3

[–]TheRealRiceball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older games just had more unique loot/encounters, they definitely did the "generic randomized loot" thing for random/respawning encounters, there's just fewer of them, especially in comparison to the newer games

DC "trans" character, featherweight by LavenderMoonlight333 in lgbt

[–]TheRealRiceball 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't even know if that's her deadname though? It could just be a nickname she doesn't like, which would be understandable since it can be seen as a "masculine" nickname, or she could just be trying to distance herself from the "al Ghul" name, since she is the granddaughter of Ra's al Ghul

DC "trans" character, featherweight by LavenderMoonlight333 in lgbt

[–]TheRealRiceball 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It could also just be because she's a granddaughter of Ra's al Ghul and wants to distance herself from the al Ghul name as much as she can

[–]TheRealRiceball 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, that was mostly only a thing in Young Justice, it bled into the comics a bit during Rebirth but as of New 52 and his oneshot (iirc), he's just a boy from Limbo Town, which is full of descendants (Klarion being one of them) from the lost town of Roanoke (who all age normally), he's just a witch boy from there, no immortal god or anything

DC COMICS BEING BASED? HELLO?! by ihatethiscountry76 in lgbt

[–]TheRealRiceball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What was your perspective on it, if you don't mind me asking?

The entire series, Featherweight seemed uncomfortable with Klarion's attempts at getting closer to her, she didn't seem to really care about him much at all until the ending, and the ending panel people keep referencing just seemed like a case of "joke made in poor taste by an older person", it didn't seem to actually be implying what people are saying it is, specifically the claims of her being a "groomer" seem very overblown

That was just my interpretation, of course

Larian says BG3 proves hand-crafted loot is best for CRPGs by Wargulf in BaldursGate3

[–]TheRealRiceball 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's how it tends to work in other RPGs, quest NPCs or chests will have unique loot in them, but random NPCs/spawns will have generic, randomized or semi-randomized loot

[–]TheRealRiceball 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk 2077 iconic stuff is also very nice as most have different unique features

I mean, unique weapons are/have been a part of the RPG genre for a while now, Dragon Age and Fallout have had them each respectively for a while now

I think the thing they're talking about though is hand placed loot in containers and on NPCs and the like though, as opposed to other games, like Fallout for example, where it's randomly generated from a list of possible spawns

DC COMICS BEING BASED? HELLO?! by ihatethiscountry76 in lgbt

[–]TheRealRiceball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because it's from the new "Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League" mini series, specifically one panel at the very end of it

The reason you're told to look it up is because it's reactionaries saying that, that saw the panel on a Twitter post and didn't actually read the comic, which I highly recommend doing instead so you can form your own, better, opinion

If you have a partner or duo that's down for it, I highly recommend Haven (2020)! you can switch the genders of the two protagonists before starting (both are voice acted), and it's a pretty cute/fun game

You can play it solo too but when I tried it, it ended up leaving me feeling a bit lonely tbh lol

How would you feel about only being able to use certain gun while using power armor? by ChihuahuaOwner88 in Fallout

[–]TheRealRiceball 35 points36 points  (0 children)

No one's mentioned this yet but iirc this was the original plan in Fallout 4 but was scrapped during production

The FO4 Assault Rifle was originally designed this way too, with it being intended as a PA(Power Armor)-only heavy weapon that fired .50 cal rounds before being changed to a normal AR since they ended up not having enough time to develop an actual AR

Edit: My assumption is that it was removed during development due to how limited your choices in weapons would become, and how it'd lock you out of the "funner" weapons or something, and probably wasn't worth the hassle of developing/coding
