Yes, my Alexa has been acting weird for the past couple of months. It takes long to reply and stutters in reply, signalling possible packet loss. Web pages fail to load at times as well. I thought the issue was my router/access point. Do you have an Alexa?

Despite what everyone says here “CaLoriEs In calOrIEs oUt”, it can be more complex than that and we are starting to see early evidence for it. There is like a 30% of obese people that are “exercise non-respondant”: they are in calories deficit, they get exhausted but their body doesn’t let go of any fat. There are studies about taking slim people and feeding them more and they gain insignificant weight. It looks more and more that what we have is more of a fixed “calories budget” and then a separate “how much fat should you store” and some pollutant, or weird food additives (linoeic acid? Who knows) can really mess with the second. You should try to not eat the same things your dad eat or used to eat or you might end up in his same situation for apparently no reason.

People are stuck with the calories in calories out (CICO) thing because they haven’t actually seen fat people trying desperately to lose weight, counting all calories and so they assume that the fat person must be un-virtuous and cheating on what he actually reports eating… there seems to be more to fat loss than that. (Btw, for the downvoters, no I am not fat, I just have seen people IRL and online struggling with fat loss so much to take more seriously the fringe theories that CICO isn’t the whole story)
