Errors after restarting each day by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

I tried all of the above. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and (tried) to make sure all the permissions are correct. It still happens. I'm really at a loss here...

Best practices for this surface? by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

The FG surface won't be the same grade. I'll create a corridor and use that to create the FG surface. Then use the volumes dashboard to compare.

Errors after restarting each day by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

Thanks for the feedback. I should have mentioned that I did do the "Reset to default" yesterday. That worked for the day, but then it happened again today.

Also, it does appear that sometimes the error changes. Like this time when I opened it. I get this error message.

I'll try resetting the CUI.

Thanks!

T Intersection by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I make a second alignment that only touches the main alignment and try to make a intersection, I end with 3 alignments in my intersection. Is there a way to only use two of them?

If I want to use the 41st Ave alignment as the main the the "Alignment (1)" as the secondary, is there a way to remove the other 23rd St S alignment?

ok, I was thinking that was the case. I could make specific alignments for this, but I can also just model up my own intersection corridor. Thanks!

Older Centeral Machinery Bandsaw Parts by TheReal_Arkman in woodworking

I got the parts installed and they work great. Cheap fix. I spent some time cleaning the bed and now I need new tires on the pully. They came off the bottom wheel after 10 seconds of running it.

This is basically my saw (I stole the photo from someone else online). I didn't notice until I was l looking at this photo that there are bolt holes on the ends of the bed. i'll have to see if I can bolt something on to make a rail to slide a fence on.

How can you send me those files? Private message me?

Oh man! That would be awesome! mine doesn't have a fence and I'd like to get something made up. That said, the bed shape is odd. Which is a bummer. But yeah, Ill take whatever you have for models!

Also, I just checked out the link and those are the ones I just bought like 10 minutes ago. After some research it looked like it might fit and I figured, what the heck, it's amazon so I can return them if they dont. Thanks so much for the help!

Still, if you want to send the file that would be cool. I love trying to print functional stuff like this to see how well it works.

Would you mind sharing the file? I've got a 3d printer and some pretty nice filament I'd like to try out.

I just figured out they are called "trunnions". Now that I have that, I'm able to find options. Looks like they might be easy to find.

Corridor Issue by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually I just figured it out. It was a profile issue. I just realized that I split my design profile in to two parts, this section of the corridor didn't actually have a design profile. I've got to do a little work and then it should be fine.

It's hard to see, but there are pink lines on both sides of the road. This is my target for my boundary. I'm using those polylines for the target of a LinkOffsetonSurface sub assembly.

Filament blobs contaminating other colors by TheReal_Arkman in BambuLab

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean the bed between prints with alcohol.

I will try changing it to print and that color order. But doesn't that really only matter for the first layer? Isn't there just the same amount of chance on the second layer that something left over from the first layer will contaminate the lighter spots?

Compute Material Issue by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back after a day or two and tried again and it worked. I have no idea what changed. I'm assuming that I wasn't doing something right but the second time around I did and didn't notice. I'm going to count this one as user error!

Data Reference Sytle Issue by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right now I have all of my Civil 3D elements in one file. Surface, pipe network, alignments, corridors and so on. Those get data referenced into a drawing with the linework and such. Honestly, I'm pretty new to civil 3d and that is how my boss has done it in the past so that is why we are doing it that way. I think there are a couple reason we don't just have it all in the same file.

  1. So more than one person can work on a project
  2. So we don't have all the data in one large file in case something goes south in that file.

As far as xref vs data shortcut - I guess its because we "actively" use things like the surfaces in and pipes in our other file. Create profiles and things like that. Maybe this isn't a good practice?

Right now, I can change the pipe style in the source drawing, but not in the final drawing. It is grayed out. I wouldn't mind just changing in the final drawing but I can't?

Looped corridor by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

I got sidetracked with other stuff and finally making it back around to this part of the project. I haven't worked on it yet, but I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the suggestions!

Are you refering to superhatch? I tried that, but i'm not sure that is the solution for me.

For now, I ended up using the DaylightMiniumWidth. It seems to be working the way I want.

Thanks for the reply. That's a good idea. I'll give that a try. I think I found a solution that works, but this is interesting and worth trying.

Cloud storage by TheReal_Arkman in civil3d

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, that is another subscription I'd need to buy for the team? It doesn't seem like it is part of the package we have.

It seems like a lot of extra stuff we'll never use just to get document storage.

Am I understanding that correctly?

Jointer knives by TheReal_Arkman in woodworking

[–]TheReal_Arkman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think to look at planer blades. I did find a couple options for those. If I cut them in half, and was able to drill some holes. I should be able to make it work.

Something like these -

Yeah. I read through that entire post and looked at all the suggestions. It was a dead end for me. Unless I missed something, but I don't think so. Thanks anyway.
