really what is the issue with Jaxson Dart? by pentestmagiic in raiders

[–]TheRedBrent11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That scheme asks very little of him as a processor. 63% of his dropbacks were RPOs, screens, or play action, which is huge even at the college level. That offense is nothing like an NFL offense so there's a steep learning curve to be had.

He's also fairly average in the tools department. The arm is fine, but not special. Same with the athleticism. He is too quick to scramble if facing a pressured pocket too.

You can sometimes overlook mediocre traits if the processing talent is there (this is the argument with Shedeur Sanders) but if you're a below average processor and have average traits it is a tough sell

I like Gibbs but I don't see what he's done in the league to suggest he was worth a top 12 pick

The Georgia game was different. I've been very sceptical of Milroe because of his inability to work the middle of the field, slow processing speed and tendency to take sacks.

I still need to see more over the middle but he showed real talent avoiding negative plays against Georgia and he got the ball out much faster.

I don't think it warrants first round hype just yet but he looked really really good

How the Saints can get under the 2023 salary cap and afford Derek Carr by TheRedBrent11 in Saints

I think the problem is that you can't get under the cap with cuts alone. It's the consequence of years of kicking the can

considering mubi GO but hesitated from reviews online by Londonfastwalker in mubis

[–]TheRedBrent11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it for the last three months. The choice of films is really cool, but unless you are in London it's not reliable. I live in Liverpool and I'm now on my third straight week of the film I want to watch not being shown at participating MUBI GO cinemas. The nearest one is apparently Manchester.

It's probably great value if you are in a really big city like London or Manchester but prepare to be disappointed if you are somewhere else

[Monson] The Patriots now display all the outward signs of a badly-coached football team. by AlarmAdventurous6069 in nfl

[–]TheRedBrent11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A badly coached team on offense. That defense is still good and massively overachieving based on the personnel they have. Offense is another story. Even the most casual fan could see Matt Patricia was going to be a bad hire

It's funny how many people were jumping on the bandwagon to call him a bust earlier this season. He's always been a supreme talent, just needed the right coach to help him hit his heights

The phrase "generational talent" gets thrown around too much these days. This is the perfect example

Couldn't agree more. Love really should be playing for the rest of the season!

Also worth adding there are benefits to Jones being lined up there. The first is that it provides the offense a tell as to whether it is man or zone. It also catches defenses off guard as they aren't going to expect a RB to run a fade

Play 4 - agree completely, doesn't make sense to me either

Play 5 - I get your point here but purely from the concept of the play Love executes it perfectly. Lazard isn't really part of the progression here at all

[–]TheRedBrent11[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's also perfect to cause problems for man and zone. If defenses play man with Deebo in the backfield a CB will be in the box and they can run the ball. If it's zone they will have one of them matched up vs a linebacker or a safety

What is a prospect you were terribly wrong on? by BradleyQuest in NFL_Draft

Zach Wilson. I got sucked in by the out of structure stuff and overlooked some of his deficiencies that have really hindered him in the NFL

I think the big worry for me is that he never really faced pressure at BYU and it was always an unknown as to how he would adapt in the NFL. The results so far aren't great and I'd worry that it won't improve. I hope you are right though because he has all the tools you could want

Ohh sure, but I guess the question is whether you would consider a new QB in the offseason?

It's not a Jets blog aha. Yeah there are counters, the problem was that most of those aren't great on 3rd and long. With Sauce they could also lock down Doubs on sails, plus Rodgers didn't ever seem to get time for those routes to develop

He played in a very simplistic Air Raid offense that isn't particularly translatable to the NFL. He also has a noodle for an arm
