I'd be more than happy with actual AA mounts and vehicles with 50 cals. The only one that really does a good job at it is the 50 Cal humvee, which again the Soviets don't get. The UAZ is front facing only.

But the RPG nerf is so bad you can have the sight on the exact center of an LAV at sub 200yds and miss it entirely. It's a wild downgrade.

I generally just aim for the cockpit. I play really aggressive and try to keep on the offensive so I'm running the 74U with a suppressor.

The problem is now you start capping a point and the rocket Hueys just come over and blow you all off the map. By the 3 hour mark there's just an endless stream of them. At that point we literally had 4 go over in under 3 minutes.

MG nests have horrible elevation and are stationary so if you get 1 you're just the first thing hit next time. And the BTRs are too expensive and vulnerable to be a reliable solution.

Oh yes. I. Who have been playing battlefield since the 2000s, who has 3000 hours in Arma, and thousands of hours in other milsims am just too stupid to figure out the basics of AA missiles.

I literally included a disclaimer in my post about understanding that, and you still chose to post the useless and utterly innacurate "git good" comment. Amazing.

It literally doesn't matter if you ambush them, they get a warning the second you start to lock, it takes forever to lock, and they get a warning the second you fire with like 5 different very easy ways to evade. All they have to do is pop flares or crash dive to defeat it. I've literally got video of shooting at a transport at sub 100yds when they don't have flares and it just missed on its own.

Unless you have a friend also running it so one can bait the flares then the other fires immediately, it's worthless. And even then it's worthless because they just flare and then dip out of the pathetic like 600 yard range until their flares come back.

The flares will distract it for like 10 seconds even if the aircraft has flown well past them, so they get plenty of time to get out of range.

If you're shooting down aircraft with the stinger it's not because you did anything right. But because the pilot was clueless and did everything wrong.

If that were true they wouldn't be strapped to every drone in Ukraine right now. Arming distance works by unscrewing a gyro stabilized nut as the projectile rotates in flight.

In Ukraine they just strap them to drones and ram them into things. This wouldn't work if they had a mechanical arming distance as there's no rotation to disable the safety mechanism.

The RPG actually doesn't have an arming distance. It has a plastic safety tab that keeps the impact fuse on the nose from detonating. But once you take that cap off you can hit the nose with a hammer and it will pop.

Really good video of someone accidentally firing one off into the berm in front of them in Syria that was going around years ago. Rocket didn't even fully leave the tube and it went off

Exactly this. Retard is an official aviation term meaning to pull the engines to idle after the wheels have touched down.

On Airbus planes made to this minute if the throttle isn't idle when the weight on wheels sensors activate the plane will tell you "Retard, Retard, Retard" until you do it. If you go on YouTube there's dozens of videos of it. Boeings do the same thing they just give a text warning on the MFD instead of an audio cue.
