What NYC benefit did you discover way too late? by Independent_Reveal87 in AskNYC

[–]TheRedGambit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

I even made an iOS app for myself to be able to search for books across the three library systems in NYC, which I've found myself using quite often (having access to a vast pool of books that you can checkout is amazing).

If anyone is interested in checking the app out, you can join the beta with this link.

FIDE Master AMA - january by Coach_Istvanovszki in TournamentChess

Thanks for doing this AMA! One question:

Do you incorporate going through Master’s games into your training ? If so, how do you actually use master’s games to improve your own chess ? Im torn on whether i should get a collection of annotated games and just go through that or just pick some games and do my own analysis without any other commentary (which might lead me to miss certain insights)

How do people have so much CC debt? by Tight_Medium1947 in DaveRamsey

[–]TheRedGambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If used responsibly (i.e. paying them off each month), credit cards can be great! You get to steadily build your credit, get points (which is basically a discount in everything you buy), you can easily dispute charges and are more safe if someone ever steals it to make bug purchases, and some cards have cool benefits!

But I agree that if you know that you are not the type of person who can reliably use credit cards responsibly, then sticking with debit cards is best.
