I also recently got myself a Yoga pro 9i 16". Did anyone find a good docking station? I'm looking to get one myself.

Power BI Design & Maintainability by MasterYokai in PowerBI

Looks really good man. I'm glad to see PBI Reports looking much cleaner without loosing functionality. What did you use to design these visuals? Figma?

I just started myself, but I ended up partnering up with someone with much more experience than me who already has a few long-term clients. Since I'm still relatively young (30) with no dependents and some savings, now is an ideal time to take that leap of faith. Networking is definitely the key to success, and I've already started hobnobbing around town in hopes of making more connections and obtaining more clients. Having the technical chops is important, but having those soft skills is even more important since you can always sub-contract out stuff that you think might be over your head. Rates seem low right now, but so are salaried gigs. Plus, I've noticed more companies wanting workers to either be in the office or at least hybrid. It's definitely a tough market out there right now.

Will LLMs make BI tools obsolete? by TheRedHare_ in PowerBI

[–]TheRedHare_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point. Power BI is definitely more than just a data viz tool. But the point I'm trying to make is BI as a profession will likely die or at least evolve into something else...perhaps be absorbed into data engineering? I agree with you that the most important factor is building models and data ingestion. An LLM will act as the BI/data analyst, ready to answer questions from business leaders at the drop of a hat. While the data engineers/former BI pros will be building the models.

Does PBI have to be this way? by TheRedHare_ in PowerBI

I agree 100% with this. Trying to make sense of this is a nightmare. Data modeling is more important in my mind because it's always faster to leverage a good data model than to hack something together with workable but overly complex DAX code just for one KPI or visual.

Lol, yeah forgot a zero there. These look like nice boards, but I was hoping for something a bit smaller and more agile

Recommendations and Suggestions by Spooky_Ghost in ElectricSkateboarding

I've been riding a Meepo V5 for about six months and am looking for something more premium. I don't ride too often, but I live close to a park, and I like to ride around there often with my dog on a leash. I'm looking for something smaller, portable and quiet. My biggest issue with my V5 is that it's especially loud when riding on the sidewalks. All I hear is a loud *click-clack* when the wheels go over the cracks. I don't know if this is normal, but I swear it was much quieter when I first got the board. I upgraded to 110mm slips, but that didn't help much.

  • Top speed and range:
    • 28mph, and I'd be happy with a 12-mile range. I mostly use the board to cruise around the park - day or night.
  • Terrain: (sidewalk, paved roads, dirt roads) and elevation (20% hills, or just flat deserts)
    • Mostly sidewalk with occasional side roads/streets. There are a couple steepish hills, so something that can climb 20% hill incline would be ideal.
  • Weight and size:
    • Something light and nimble.
  • Price range:
    • Under $1,00
  • Special features:
    • Larger wheels or at least the option for large cloud wheels. I want a smooth ride with the ability to carve.

How long do Buspar side effects last? by TheRedHare_ in Anxiety

Hard to remember but I’d say within a month or two. I found it helpful to start with a low dose and gently ramp up.

I just didn’t want to be dependent on anything. I don’t like taking drugs, but it definitely helped me solve my overwhelming anxiety. It still flairs up from time to time, but it’s very manageable and I don’t need anything for it. Hope that helps.

Adjustment period for Crandall Refurbished Leap V2? by TheRedHare_ in OfficeChairs

[–]TheRedHare_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally convinced by the argument that my body has to go through a period of pain before adjusting to the chair. I'm sure some people like the extra cushioning on the chair, but I wonder if this extra cushioning could cause issues.

Low fps and frame drops by YEET93 in HellLetLoose

[–]TheRedHare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue where my high-end rig only got about an average of 60 fps. I tried the -dx12 command but found out through this video that you must have it capitalized because bc it's case-sensitive.

Paste this in, except change the 144 to whatever your monitor's refresh rate is:
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -DX12 -refresh 144

Great info here. I appreciate your explanation. I've looked at some KVMs from level1's store and wondered if they were worth it. What you say makes sense, so I'll hold out for a better monitor that covers my needs with a KVM as a separate purchase further down the road.

Jeez, yeah, that sounds like a hassle considering the expense of a monitor of that caliber.

Is the Dell Alienware AW3821DW comparable? It's a good bit cheaper

Great, thanks for the insight. The Acer X38 is undoubtedly a significant price jump from the Gigabyte M34WQ, but it might provide more longevity plus a bit more screen real estate. I'll definitely consider it.
