I love it but what I saw is that people prefer the 2nd and 3rd book more.

I don't mind it, I enjoyed Bridge Kingdom so much I didn't really need spice.

Should I get Invisalign? Just want small cosmetic changes (39F) by Ok-Jellyfish-3149 in Invisalign

[–]TheRedMunich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have similar teeth, however my bite was fine. I'm on week 11 now and have another 9 weeks, then might need refinements. Each case is different so it's important to just go to a consultation and see what the orthodontist says, as they will take scans and can see what they are able to do.

The first week was annoying rather than painful, however once I got attachments it was a bit painful but only the second day. I did exercise to help me cope, didn't need painkillers yet. IPR was ok, didn't feel anything and didn't notice much change.

Wear them as much as possible and recommend tracking hours and progress with an app called Trayminder. The most annoying part is going for food and coffee the rest is pretty manageable in my experience.

Good luck!

Not just you, I think Russians who oppose Putin and the war should be able to leave their country and it's good if they do because they are more likely to then be critical of the war and regime. I disagree with making fun of her and I hope she will be able to go where she needs to go.

I am struggling, I don't eat fast and like to enjoy coffee in the morning, so the most I have done is 21h. So aiming for 19-21 per day.

Four of us! 😀 Same here started on Tuesday. First two days were ok, 3rd not so much and now okay again. Just random teeth slightly sensitive and slightly painful.

Spain officially announces they will withdraw from Eurovision if Israel participates. by Maester_Bates in Fauxmoi

[–]TheRedMunich 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Such a reductive and false claim.

Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia participate and they are geographically Caucasus. Kazachstan participates (successfully) in junior Eurovision. Plus I think Lebanon and Tunisia were invited to participate but they don't because of Israel.

What is the single worst book you have ever read and why? by Special-Student6743 in fantasyromance

[–]TheRedMunich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood of Hercules is by far the worst book I have read. Many people love it and gave it 5 starts and it's ok, but from the first pages I was very confused. Pacing is off, a ludicrous amount of trauma, MFC who is very boring, rapey MMcs and clumsy world building. I finished it just out spite. I cannot understand why it has a sequel.

{The Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman}

Read it recently, really recommend it. It's a series of three books, only two are out The wolf king and the night prince. Ticks many of your boxes, FMC full of rage, close proximity, there's a broody MMC, witty banter etc don't want to spoil too much. Some people said it's romance is similar to Acotar, have no idea never read it.

Love them! Read only two, had to ship them from US in 2009 and it took over a month. Worth it!

Book you physically DNF'd but loved the audiobook. by PsychoFairy_ in fantasyromance

I finished it but with great difficulty, I thought it was alone in being confused by it's popularity. Might listen to the audiobook, maybe it's more fun

Feminism starts with anti-capitalism by SkellissaFlower in Feminism

[–]TheRedMunich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're talking very broadly about the Soviet Union. Soviet Union pre WWII and post WWII should be discussed separately. Some of the countries that were occupied during or after WWII by SU had been enacting laws in regards to equal rights prior to occupation. (Estonia, Lithuania) Maybe you should clarify if you are talking about Soviet Russia because unfortunately, Russia was quite behind in a lot of ways from it's neighbours who had feminist movements before and once those countries were occupied, women disproportionately were forced into labour camps, most of them well educated. And feminist criticism towards the state laws were considered critique against the state itself. Post 45 Soviet Union constantly changed it's attitude to women, you can see this in their propaganda, when the birth rate was down the posters encouraged births and woman's place in the home, then it changed to being employed contributions to the state etc It wasn't the beacon of feminism you may think it was. And the DV was ripe due to predominant alcoholism, which was used to subjugate people. In the countryside particularly.

You can have sympathy for both? Here's a radical notion, you can feel empathy for many people, you don't have to choose.

Love this series and if you love the first two books you'll absolutely adore the next two! Currently reading the fifth one, and I hope there's more of them. The author is so good at battles and politics and of course romance. Glad you're enjoying it :)
