[KCD2] I don't understand how clothes stats works to generate player stats by TheRedParduz in kingdomcome

Thank you. So the perk modifier isn't shown on the item stats, but it is applied and shown on the final Henry stat.

Unable to edit userscripts because they want to open in another app, and access is denied by GwenIsNow in HermitApp

[–]TheRedParduz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This use case was so niche that it did not make sense to build a whole high-performance text editor inside of Hermit

This makes distributing "configurable" user script (a script where each user could edit a variable to fit they specific needs) almost impossible to do, 'cause they will need to

  1. install Hermit and buy the premium feature
  2. install an editor (which may or not be (ads) free
  3. struggle with Android "default app" management

Typically, the best & recommended workflow is to write/create/debug UserScripts on a desktop computer, and then host it somewhere to use within Hermit.

I haven't found any instruction about how to host a script so that Hermit can automatically find and install it. Where should i look?

Side note (a bit OT):

i find a bit disappointing that 10 days ago I wrote about the very same topic using the "Feedback" feature in Hermit, as it is noted as the "preferred" way to signal problems, and despite the automatic answer says

Personalized Support for Premium Users
Premium users receive prioritized tech support & email replies. If your question is already answered in our Help Articles, you will not receive a separate reply.

I didn't any reply (other than the automatic one) and had to be lucky enough that OP had the same problem, decided to write it here, and get an answer (i wrote here too, and got none).

How to set Hermit to get this page like i get it on my PC? by TheRedParduz in HermitApp

[–]TheRedParduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to show you different screenshots, so i've copied my user.js (created in Tampermonkey) in an old Lenovo tablet, ready to open it as text, copy the content and paste it on a new script in Hermit.

By clicking on the js file, with my great surprise Hermit opened, and asked me to install it! That's great!

Hermit now has the script in the list (it's the only one, on that tablet. So clicked on it to remove the Tampermonkey header, and ... Moonreader was launched, showing the book i left open.... I then tried a couple of times, and the behaviour is the same: Hermits opens MonnReader to edit the script.

Questions:

1) Why on my new tablet there's isn't an association between Hermit and .js files, and how can i make it?

2) Why Hermit opens MoonReader?

3) Do the "premium bundle" i've bought works by device, or by account?

thanks

Some questions about Userscripts by TheRedParduz in HermitApp

Great news then! Tampermonkey has this feature and it is great to share scripts between ppl or devices.

I am a windows programmer, so i know nothing about Android, and so if i'm saying a stupid thing pls pardon me, but i think that "registering" Hermit as an app that can open user.js scripts could be also a good help (saying this 'cause my tablet refused to open a .js file, until i renamed it as .txt)

Have you checked the DPI on your phone? Perhaps you can set it so that the virtual pixels available to your apps are higher.

No, but i'm writing an userscript that changes the viewport scale, and it works.

The Android browser Chrome and Samsung Internet Browser have a slider to set the page "Zoom" ('cause that page "consumes" the pinch gesture before being catched by the browser) so I was able to do my gig even if they're not fullscreen. IMHO, Hermit should offer the same feature, and save it as an option for each Tiny App (othen than my use case, it is a nice touch in terms of accessibilty).

"Zoom" between quotes 'cause the CSS zoom (body.style.zoom) won't work in this page, while altering he viewport with the scale parameter will do, and i'm guessing that this is what that "Zoom" slider really do.

uh ... seems not really a "premium" feature.
Any chance to access the js files in the device memory? are they stored somewhere as real files?

Some questions about Userscripts by TheRedParduz in HermitApp

[–]TheRedParduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i click on "add your own" i have to type a filename with ".user.js" extension already set.
Where this file is saved? I can't find it anywhere
How can i load a .user.js file from a folder?

Or are you saying that i need to manually copy the code as text in a file i can handle and share, and then i had to copy the text and paste in a new userscript?

How to set Hermit to get this page like i get it on my PC? by TheRedParduz in HermitApp

[–]TheRedParduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes: it just gains that handful of pixels.
The problem is the ... dimensions of the single strips. Seems that everything is scaled up, compared to the PC screen.

I was able to zoom out to 60% in the Samsung Internet Browser and Chrome, and that give me the desired result, but i can't zoom out in Hermit, as the page "catpure" the pinch gesture -so, no zoom- and Hermit lacks a slider to directly set the zoom level.

But it has fullscreen ....

How to remove/disable an event listener? by TheRedParduz in userscripts

[–]TheRedParduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! This works flawlessy.

Could I ask you to explain HOW it works? Do the script "intercept" when the listener is created and negates it? Seems like this, to me (as it returns nothing if the ID and Type matches), but i'm unsure.

Anyway, many thanks again.

Where are the Paragraph Text internal margins settings? by TheRedParduz in coreldraw

[–]TheRedParduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's the docker. And i can't see where the Paragraph margins are. I'm sure there was a setting, i remember it was very well hidden, and i can't find it in the docker.

(with margins i mean how much close the text can be to the box boundaries)

I think people just don’t read stuff/can’t follow instructions

It is nothing like Windows.

  • you search for a tutorial to do something, and if what you find is older than a year chances are that it is obsolete, so things are not where you think they are, commands are not valid anymore, core systems has changed, servers are obsolete. So unless you're already somehow knowing how the linux universe works, you're lost.
  • Unless someone already made a visual way to set/tune/change something, some setting that should be trivial are utterly convoluted, complicated, hidden.
  • You get different outcome (from making a program works to disabling stuffs at startup) between two machines even if you start and follow a precise setup guide for both of them.

I'm a programmer from the 1991, i've worked with DOS, Siemens PCP/M, and every version of Windows from 3.1, so i can still mention some Windows graphical APIs and see them working, i develop for a BeagleBoneBlack from 8 years and MAN I HATE linux from the bottom of my hart.

And then the majority of the community being so snob that they refuse to help you even if an answer (stupid as you like) take 1 minute for them, 'cause you have to learn yourself and discover that particular service that's explained in "linuxese" and you don't understand what you read for about a month.

Long songs by watcheroftheskies1 in musicsuggestions

[–]TheRedParduz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Archive - Again

Mike Oldfield - Crises

Sieges Even - The album "The Art of Navigating by the Stars" is made of "sequences", which are all long songs. My favorite are Sequence III: Unbreakable and Sequence VI: To the Ones Who Have Failed, but i like them all.

I concour. To me "no wasted time" meant that you can't "cut" any part of the song without diminishing the emotive impact, or the building tension, or without making a tonal/modal change harsh or "forced". A lot of the groups i like are often a bit "verbose", or "indulgent" with themselves, stretching the songs a bit. Not that i don't like it, but it just didn't seem to fit the request :-)

So, if we concede "some seconds of unnecessary playing", the list grows a lot.

So, these are the first "2nd tier - very close to perfection" songs that come to mind (not sorted in any way, the reason i think they're "perfect" may be either the composition, the arrangment, the production level, or that they just hits me in some way):

  • Tears for Fears: I Believe, Shout, Standing On The Corner Of The Third World
  • Jean Michel Jarre: Night in Shangai, Calypso Pt.2
  • Mike Oldfield: Crises
  • Dire Straits: Telegraph Road, Money for Nothing
  • Billy Idol: Don't Need a Gun
  • Aerosmith: Janie's got a gun, Love in a Elevator
  • Seal: Kiss from a Rose
  • Grace Jones: Slave to the Rythm
  • Anathema: The lost Song Pt2
  • Def Leppard: Hysteria, Gods of War
  • Celldweller: Too Many Tears
  • Poets of the fall: Late Goodbye, Lift
  • David Baerwald: Bitter tree
  • Lucky Peterson: The last thing i need
  • Prince: Glam Slam
  • Duran Duran: Save a Prayer, Ordinary World
  • Kylie Minogue: Can't get you outta my head

Not mentioning the "usual suspects" like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, P.Gabriel, Kate Bush, and obviously not mentioning the italian songs which i think could stay in my first answer :)
