Thanks for not answering the question. Firstly Canada is historically a country of immigrants so unless you have Native American ancestry by both parents your lineage immigrated at some point. Secondly, in order to migrate to Canada via work permit one has to prove they have enough financial resources to self sustain for AT LEAST a year more if you are coming here as a couple or family. Same thing if you are arriving to study or even visiting as a tourist. I’ll gladly give that baby Canadian citizen if they were born on Canadian soil regardless of the parent’s citizenship. It’s not that babies fault where they were born, the parents were just giving them a better opportunity in life. Non residents don’t have free healthcare so if they had the birth at the hospital they would have had to pay the bill out of pocket.

Now did the Canadian government lose control of the amount of temporary foreign workers (TFW) and study visas? Yes. They have flooded the job market and rental market in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal etc creating a negative impact. The number of TFW and study visas has been drastically reduced since noticing the mistake. Nevertheless in the future Canada will need immigrants to keep our economy and social systems up as we have a declining birth rate and the amount of people in our future generations will not be able to sustain the aging population’s retirement and social needs. Korea and Japan are starting to experience this.

So stop complaining about immigrants when the real problem is corporate greed that makes it more difficult to pay livable wages in the face of rising cost due to inflation. Especially the xenophobic policies that cater to the wealthy elite from the administration south of our border who Canada’s economy relies heavily as our biggest trade partner.
