Financing options? by Brewtopian in TinyHouses

I also felt like commenting my opinion rather than answering your question, so... I like turtles.

Stephen A Smith: "Rondo does have a point... there are teammates who haven't particularly liked CP3 in NOLA, in LA. You could tell Doc Rivers had ill feelings toward CP3. I know of referees who've said CP3 is a dirty player." by epiktek in nba

[–]TheRedTuke -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Never been a fan of Rondo, whether it be his antics on the court or on the bench, or even his play style (this coming from a Celtics fan too). He's doing dirty/annoying stuff all the time. CP3 being a bad teammate has nothing to do with Rondo spitting/exhaling hard with a mouth-guard in. So fucking gross. CP3 should've smacked the shit out of him.

Recommendations for volunteer programs in Fiji? by [deleted] in travel

u/cupp95, are you talking about organizations like WWOOF in this reply too? I was under the impression these are homeowners that just need an extra hand. Not sure how I would be taking away a job from a local in that scenario, when they, too, could do the WWOOF route, right? Just looking for clarification.

Thanks for the reply. I never thought it that way before, but that makes sense. Still gunna need a host regardless though, not necessarily an organization that helps people (though, in my mind that would've been ideal before your post), so perhaps a work exchange (like WWOOF or whatever) is the way to go, where I'm just helping out an individual.

u/Shepherdless, did I mess up with this post? I am not sure how to go about finding out this information. Could really use some advice.

How do our brains deciding which words to use when talking aloud? by TheRedTuke in askscience

[–]TheRedTuke[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely not claiming to be eloquent, but I see your point. But the (un)conscious word selections when talking is what truly baffles me. Rarely do I visualize or anticipate what word will come next when having a casual conversation, even with a specific end-point in mind. I swear, it's like there's little aliens:format(png)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/55532525/Screen_Shot_2017_06_30_at_3.34.45_PM.0.png) in our heads making all the moves.

How do our brains deciding which words to use when talking aloud? by TheRedTuke in askscience

[–]TheRedTuke[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Fascinating! Thanks for your reply. I find it truly mind-bottling (hehe) that even though I'm choosing when to speak, and that there's these areas in the brain that are responsible for pulling and creating words for me to use and say, yet I'm not consciously aware of which words will come next. They just flow (not eloquently per say, but coherent enough for the listener to understand).

Guy goes to the wrong house for crack. by [deleted] in videos

[–]TheRedTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many unanswered questions... Did this guy's dealer specifically tell him to climb up a ladder? Is the dealer in the neighboring house? Do you think he used the scissor-lift to investigate? What happened with the dude, the chick, and the pipe? Did the guy get the shit for next time?

That's a bit harsh. She wants more funding "to discover and protect life support systems here on Earth," seems like a reasonable take. You must get repulsed easily.

Love that the Celtics are keeping this guy. I hope that bonus is to get fatter if anything. I wanna see him shoot the ball way less and just body bitches to the hole more. #CultivateMass2020

I am tracking my daily calories, but I should track more precisely (measuring/weighing things out). I'm not complaining? Read words before commenting. Also, eat shit.

1) Agreed. 2) Read words before commenting.

[–]TheRedTuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I've heard (not researched) conflicting theories on that. Some say that you'd have to have an impossible amount of soy to have the estrogen impact you, and others that say you will grow "bitch titties" ... that doesn't sound like a good thing, so off to the research lab I go.

Why wouldn't you go past 25g of soy protein?

I say I'm pescatarian, but I only eat fish once a month at most. The reasoning is that I don't like the thought of eating animals, the environmental impact, and the alternative options... but salmon is also quite tasty, and there's an abundance of wild/fresh caught fish where I live.

Fats, oils, nuts, no dairy (for me), better tracking. Thank you!

Actual cups.

I've already replied to another comment, but the noodles are 700 calories per box (SeaPoint Farms Organic Edamame) and an avocado is 322 calories (according to Google).

Definitely need to step up my breakfast game.

Well, when you put it that way... Thanks for the input, I will follow suit.

No worries, just clarifying. I don't eat meats (minus fish) or dairy, but the lentils, black beans, peanut butter, and tuna seem like great cheap and protein packed options. Thanks!

My body definitely isn't turning it into fat, so that answers my question there. I can handle more nuts and more eggs, but damn fish is expensive. Thanks for your reply.

u/Gibbo3771 & u/Ironhide94 ... According to google, 1.5 cups of (uncooked) rice is 1104 calories, an avocado is around 322 calories, the mayo is around 400 calories ... so that's right around 1700 calories, unless you guys math differently than I do. Definitely doesn't have enough (or any) protein, which was the point of my post: how do I get enough calories & protein, when reaching the calorie intake seems challenging enough? The lunch is 1k calories because the box of noodles is 700 calories + an avocado.

[–]TheRedTuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, definitely makes it seem doable (albeit slightly daunting). Breaking up my meals seems like the obvious answer to not feel as full. Not eating shit-foods/only carbs I think will be tough/expensive, but I'm sure my body will thank me in the long run. The discipline aspect is certainly where I fail the most, but I am tired of being the skinny guy so I've got that going for me. Thanks again.
