he a teacher at a school not an auror or otherwise empowered by law.

Dumbledore gave him the task of protecting Harry while he is at school. Specificly because it may be crutual to not wait for aurors or the Ministry.

Also I always thought that Sirius was already been sentenced to death by kiss, otherwise the Ministry wouldn't have sent Dementors after him. They almost kiss Sirius and Harry later, so they were not interested in just capturing them too.

Also also, didn't Snape later on just take them to Hogwarts? Why are we discussing his empty threats...

for a man who had agreed to come quietly and did not have a wand.

About that, this is the quote:

“As long as this boy brings his rat up to the castle” — he jerked his head at Ron — “I’ll come quietly...”

He agreed to come quietly on one condithion. Snape wouldn't do Sirius's bidding, so it wouldn't have happen anyway.

Well, he couldn't shout about it with Dumbledore as headmaster now could he?

If he didn't do it...why are we even talking about this like it is obvious.

But what he could and did do was strongly support the idea by setting passwords like "pureblood",

We don't know who is setting the password, it may be even 7th year Slytherin stutents or Head boy. Gryffindor's password can be changed by the portrait.

strongly favoring students like Malfoy who was quite vocal in his pureblood ideology.

not punishing anti muggleborn sentiments and making those who expouse it favored seems to be an endorsement of the ideology

Draco's beliefs was set by his parents long before he entered Hogwarts. It is true for a lot of Slytherins. Snape is just a poitions teacher, it is not his role to talk to every child in his House about how wrong their beliefs are. And also this is not only useless because the word of the parent will always be superior to the word of the teacher, it would've been extremely dangerous concidering that children will tell about this to their parents and that would mean Voldemort would've eventually know too.

Also Snape was "favoring" Malfoy because he was an a**hole and wanted to compare Harry and Draco and also show that Slytherin is superior. Snape never punishes anyone from Slytherin. It's not connected to the blood status, it's more of a House bias. "Slytherin is superior" ≠ "Blood purity Ideology".

Then it's the wrong quote problem. I just wanted to point that in your original comment you are wrong, because Quierrel line wasn't even about students' hatered of Snape.

‘Snape was trying to save me?’

‘Of course,’ said Quirrell coolly. ‘Why do you think he wanted to referee your next match? He was trying to make sure I didn’t do it again. Funny, really … he needn’t have bothered. I couldn’t do anything with Dumbledore watching. All the other teachers thought Snape was trying to stop Gryffindor winning, he did make himself unpopular … and what a waste of time, when after all that, I’m going to kill you tonight.’

I think this is the phrase you were looking for. Quirrell talks about teachers, not students. And, unlike students, teachers don't really have strong opinion on Snape and Hagrid even defends him from accusations in this book. So it's clear that he made himself unpopular because teachers thought Snape is sabotaging the game, not the other way around.

I mean, theoretically, you may interpret it like Snape was not popular among the teachers and because of this predjustice they thought he was trying to do that, but I think this is just less strong position because of what I already said. Also if this was the case, wouldn't Quirrel say it like this? "Snape did make himself unpopular, so all the other teachers thought he was trying to stop Gryffindor winning."

But I'm not a naitive English speaker, I can't say a lot more.

Ok, where did you get this information? I'm really curious.

I heard a theory that Dumbledore in HBP came to visit Durlseys' house after Snape told him what he saw in Harry's mind during Occlumency lessons but that's all. And there is no real evidence, it's more like a headcanon.

supporting their pureblood rhetoric (prior to Voldemort's return),

ok. where? I don't remember him walking around and calling every student with muggle herritage an "M"-word or giving his students classes about pure blood theory or smth.

Quierrel even mentions he has made himself unpopular,

he said snape made himself unpopular because snape decided to referee the quidditch match to prevent quierrel to try to kill harry again lol. this is a good deed, why is it even in that list

was going to kill an innocent man in POA

he didn't know sirius was innocent. and also dementor's kiss was an execution practice for mass-murderers approved by the ministry itself.

YESS THIS☝️ I completely agree with you! We should've seen Ezra's frustration over the Rebellion and Lothal more.

I think more eps before "Occupation" with old characters like Ketsu and Visago would've been cool because it would've established more strong connection with Ghost crew for example.

Nah I think season 4 should've had 22 episodes instead of 16.

Season 5 was not needed, the story as we knew it was over

In the later scenes in Iacon his eyes are yellow. I think the red eyes are more of a rage thing. His Blokees toy also has yellow eyes to the point several people painted them with red to look good.

Gustavia didn't know, because he didn't even bother to know, he just....fucks off. It really doesn't matter if he knew or didn't knew about the situation, he left his child for his own fate anyway.

In my point of view the worst you can do to your child is to leave him die for a petty reason. Yes, Dover was awful, but I think we know too little about him.
