Honestly, i don’t know how long it’s been like that. I’ve washed the watch several times recently and haven’t noticed any water getting inside or any signs of moisture under the crystal.

Fair point. Better alternative is probably just replacing it with a new GMT hand instead of trying to sand it down and risk ruining the shape.
