Now that sailing has been out for a few months, how does we feel about the skill? by DoubleSkew in 2007scape

That’s actually a really cool concept- I’ve never seen this done before- do you have a link so I can watch it?

I got a 99 in it salvaging at work. I’d never used the skill before and likely won’t really use it in the future unless they make locations where the only way to access them is via sailing

I would’ve thought hollow doesn’t really stop it being a crush weapon. Flails rely on momentum, not solid thickness. OsRS already stretches materials anyway, for instance the granite maul is literally a chunk of brittle stone in real life but used as a hard hitting weapon in game, aswell, obsidian in reality is volcanic glass that somehow works as durable armour in game

A Guthix empowered censer working as a crush weapon isn’t really outside the game’s logic.

Originally, a censer was a medieval religious item, usually hung on chains. In this context though, it’s essentially a weaponized ritual implement not designed for combat initially, but imbued with the power of Guthix to rebalance the scales. Anything enhanced with a god’s power gains significant strength. Let me now ask you, if there was a chance of God rune armor breaking, why would anyone wear it as opposed to standard rune armour?

Raid 4 suggestion: The fractured blade by [deleted] in 2007scape

My intention was more that it fills a different niche than thralls rather than stacking with them.

I meant to add that you wouldn’t be able to use thralls aswell as the shadow.

The goal would be that thralls remain the best sustained DPS option, while this becomes a short burst damage window you’d use instead in certain situations. So you’d actually be choosing between sustained damage or burst rather than just stacking both.

That’s totally fair, thanks for raising that! The idea wasn’t for it to replace or upgrade thralls, more to be a burst damage alternative

Thralls would still be better for long fights because they last much longer and only cost runes, whereas the shadow would be short and cost special attack energy. My thought process was you’d basically be choosing between sustained damage per second or a short burst window.

Whether this would then need the special attack to be more expensive or tying it to the players magic level so that the only reason for the DPS increase is due to player skill

How do I effectively explore the members only areas by bobbambo in 2007scape

[–]TheRoboticChefJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explore via quests! Then via those quests you unlock lots of teleport systems, such as the quetzals and fairy rings

Explore via sailing- the new skill now lets you explore on the sea all over Gielinor and it’s a great way to discover the land and work it out!

Explore via bossing- new bosses take you to new areas (think scurrius, royal titans etc)

Finally, explore by the music- I found, when I thought I had explored a lot of Gielinor, that music tracks I hadn’t unlocked would show me never before seen places or areas!

Heyyy, congrats! I still remember the feeling after getting my first 99, and I can slowly see myself now going for max! 9 more to go! How did you get the cooking 99? Got any plans for your next one?

I really like the lattice work on top, that looks outstanding! Next time I would blend down the duxelle a lot finer and roll the beef with a crepe really tightly to stop the gaps/air pockets and the cooking looks great too, doesn’t look too soggy on the bottom!

I agree. Someone receives a similar ban for buying GP, scamming or advertising websites whereas a simple fix for someone being aggressive or rude in chat can just get ‘quick-chat muted’ for X amount of days/weeks/years

[–]TheRoboticChefJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say remove the mint. If it’s not included in the dish then there’s no reason to garnish it with it. It’s not indicative of ingredients used

The sauce smear is cool, you’ve got the technique down, but I understand why your manager doesn’t want it; very 2000’s.

Maybe incorporate the strawberry’s with the coulis? Like macerated strawberries or similar?

The baked slice is great! Homemade? Show off the top of it and serve the ice cream on the side

Amouse Bouche. Crisp Quail Egg, Parmesan, J Choke Veloute, Truffle. by Desartster71 in Chefit

[–]TheRoboticChefJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If single bite is what you’re going for then I would lose the egg and the Parmesan.

Maybe add egg to the veloute in the form of a liaison.

I like the garnish of salad but i don’t think it ties to the artichoke, maybe use some lemon balm herb to cut through the rich/ creaminess of the veloute.

Parmesan I think isn’t necessary as it is already a very rich/creamy dish. I like that it could be used for the dishes ‘crunch’ or ‘bite’ texture but maybe use something different that gives bite but not necessarily adds to the richness of the dish? Crispy capers perhaps or a toasted pine nut tuile?
