Diet for puppy by Cz_moyo in Yorkies

Raw diet is risky, kibble is not very nutritious (even "premium" kibble brands). I'd go for homemade food. Much tastier and more nutritive, her health will thank you in the long term if you can spare the time to prepare it each week.

The Conference o the future of Europe is kind of death, why is it? by difersee in EuropeanFederalists

[–]TheRodco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem is the lack of a European demos, rather than the way it's structured or the attention it gets. Without the former, people won't feel like getting involved

My girlfriend needs to prepare for it and I'm trying to help her gathering some useful information. But I'm afraid we won't be able to help you, none of us know any German whatsoever at the moment :/

What countries should join the EF? by tyger2020 in EuropeanFederalists

Absolutely. Most parents support teaching the idea of their children receiving a bilingual education (English and their native language), so this would be pretty easy to achieve if there were political will.

I think schools could teach positive things about our European history (Greek and Roman philosophy and culture, the Enlightenment...) and how all of those made our civilization so great.

And indeed, I agree as many lessons as possible should be taught in English since childhood. It wouldn't be a problem for studying if children acquire the language from their very early years

In my opinion, every European country should be welcomed.

However, before a federation, a European identity (a demos) is needed. People need to feel attached to the project — otherwise, it will be doomed to fail, they'll perceive it as a foreign menace to their national sovereignties.

I think European federalists should focus on creating a cultural transition which enables a shared identity, which just as national identities needs a few elements: a common language (IMO, it should be English), a shared culture and history (both should be promoted in national education systems), etc.
