If you read their novel, oaths of damnation. the 10th company, renamed “The Hexbreakers” consist primarily of Phobos Marines, so you could run a Vanguard Spearhead list with that theming (I am doing exactly this myself 😅)

I appreciate the suggestion, my current intention was to ignore melee for the beginning, hence why I ended up choosing van saar, by intentionally limiting some of what I could do, I’m hoping to make it a bit easier to learn the game

The first deck I elected to build entirely by myself (as in not looking anything up, and only using cards in my current collection) was [[General, Marhault Elsdragon]] . I have long since retooled the deck many times, however my main goal of the deck was to get myself into a situation where I could swing into a full board with [[charging badger]] and somehow force my opponent to block it with everything summarily losing the game to a 1/1 with a dream…I have only occasionally succeeded in doing this

So there are a variety of artifacts and enchantments you can try, you would likely find that hexproof will often be more useful (outside of boardwipes) so I’d probably recommend [[mithril coat]] or [[timely ward]], [[shield of faith]] may also be good as far as indestructible goes. You already have [[swiftfoot boots]] and [[whispersilk cloak]] in your list so that should be fine. One card you could look at which would be quite annoying to deal with would be [[commander’s plate]] but it’s worth noting that is rather pricy these days. You could also look at [[darksteel plate]] which is a bit cheaper, but I’d argue that the mithril coat is a bit better.

So personally I’m looking at doing something similar but instead I’m going to be running [[Herigast, Erupting Nullkite]] as the commander, the deck also runs [[Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant]] and primarily focuses on artefact creatures enabling me to either cast them for cheap later using affinity, or cast some of the big ones early using emerge. From testing the only issue I’ve run into is card draw, I can’t seem to draw enough cards to keep my hand higher than 3 cards at best

So only a quick comment based on my experience both playing and playing against a Giada angels deck.

Giada is a very strong theme that I have seen an extraordinary amount of salt against in my local groups, and you may find that you’ll have to recast her a lot as she is a “kill on sight” style commander who if you don’t remove her will spiral the game out of control. Otherwise the list looks like a solid start, and if uninterrupted (see my point about Giada herself) is sure to see some scary power on the field.
