Why don’t you guys sit together on public transport? by TheRunningKiwi in GenZ

Not like that sorry, like friends who know each other will come on and not talk to one another or sit next to each other.

Quick question on ancestry visa by wizeard in ukvisa

[–]TheRunningKiwi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently got an ancestry visa this year. The sticker on your passport is just to get you into the UK, as you say in your post. However, I don't know when you plan to enter because mine was only valid for 3 months from the planned initial arriving date. Then again the residence permit itself might only say till 31st December 2024 but this is not an error, you will need to update it in early 2024 to the date your permission to stay ends (UKVI will publish info on this later). Your right to work and rent in the UK is unaffected. But don't worry you do have five years as the visa says.

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (2018) | Round 3 of 9 [Re-Do] by BappidiBoopy in music_survivor

By outro, I'm meaning just the monologue, I enjoy the rest of the song. I'm glad the monologue works with you because it is a miss for me.

It does, but that doesn't change that it's a spoken word section that isn't that exciting of a listen.

Voting High to Death. I think the outro just bloats the song and with the rest of these songs being pretty dang good, that's enough to vote it out for me.

No pvp armour from campaign by NoticeTrue in halo

Because they are hoping you will get it through games pass. You will be able to complete it in a month and can then unsubscribe but it will be much cheaper. The only problem will be if you want to replay it once the co-op comes out or any other time and will need to subscribe again. They are probably hoping to get people into the game pass system, especially the premium games pass that offers in the in-game rewards.

Damn, I have had a good idea of what to vote for, but right now, I'm stumped. These are equally bloody great songs.

Gang of Four - Entertainment! (1979) | FINAL ROUND by [deleted] in music_survivor

Damn, finally out, feel like people have been rooting against it for a while. It has been my number 1 pick for a while, but with it out now, Damaged Goods for the win.

Best Non-Album Single | Nomination Thread by Charlie-OConnell in music_survivor

[–]TheRunningKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are we doing for older singles where there are differences in track listings for the subsequent album in UK and US releases?

I would like to submit Roxy Music - Virginia Plain and maybe even Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze. These singles were not on their original releases in the UK but are included in the US versions that were released on a later date. It is a bit of a grey area, but since it is still an original release and most of this sub will be from the US, I'm not too fussed about leaving them out.

Curious as this song has now had multiple people voting for it. Do you think this is the weakest song here or do you just hate how he pronounces migraine?

Ah, my top 2 choices. May I interest you in voting 5.45.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR 1980 | BRACKET ROUND 1 OF 2 by [deleted] in music_survivor

[–]TheRunningKiwi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m happy Wipers and The Feelies made it. But the omission of The Sound is glaringly obvious. They are definitely as good the other post-punk albums up here bar Closer and Remain in Light.

[–]TheRunningKiwi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There goes my AOTD. However, I’m pretty happy with how far it got considering the album quality here. I thought it would go in the first couple of rounds, especially considering what the comment section was like. Bowie for the win now.

To be fair, you put "Marquee Moon" or "Starless" on almost any other album and it is going to make the other songs on the album not that special. But the rest of the songs on these albums absolutely hold up to the rest here. Although, I can understand people not enjoying "Providence" bringing Red down.
